A domestic dispute turned violent in Soi Tung Klom, Talman 1, Village No. 11, Nong Prue Subdistrict, when a heavily intoxicated man allegedly shot his stepson in the mouth, leaving the young soldier critically injured.

Police from Nong Prue station were called to the scene after residents reported gunfire and a violent altercation inside a rented room.

According to Ms. Saiyut, the victim’s mother, she had been separated from her long-time partner Mr. Prawech, whom she had lived with for over ten years. She told officers that she could no longer tolerate his behaviour, claiming he frequently accused her of infidelity and even suspected her of having an inappropriate relationship with her own son.

On the day of the incident, Mr. Prawech arrived at her home in a drunken state, demanding to see her. Her 23-year-old son, Mr. Saranawat, who was sitting on the sofa, tried to defuse the situation by telling his stepfather he did not know where she was, fearing another quarrel would break out.

Moments later, Prawech left on his motorised cart but returned shortly afterwards. Without warning, he allegedly pulled out a gun and shot his stepson at close range, causing him to collapse on the sofa. Ms. Saiyut rushed into the room and tried to wrestle the gun from him as he attempted to fire again. The struggle caused the weapon to discharge a second time, grazing her head.

Neighbours who heard the shots intervened, helping to subdue the attacker until police arrived.

When questioned, Prawech, still heavily intoxicated, claimed he acted in self-defence, insisting he had been assaulted and threatened before firing. Officers, however, expressed doubt over his version of events. He was treated for injuries sustained when angry neighbours restrained him, before being taken into custody for further questioning.

A witness told police that Prawech had earlier ridden his motorised cart recklessly outside the residence, nearly colliding with others before returning to the room. He described hearing the sound of a struggle, followed by gunfire, which caused nearby residents, including women, children and the elderly, to flee in fear.

Investigators have reviewed CCTV footage from the area, which captured the sound of the gunshots and Ms. Saiyut’s desperate cries as she pleaded with her partner not to kill her son.

The victim, Mr. Saranawat, a conscript soldier on leave, is receiving urgent medical care. He had been due to complete his military service within a few months.

Police confirmed that Mr. Prawech is being held in custody along with the seized firearm. Charges will be brought against him following further investigation.

Can we assume that we can blame the poison Lao Khao for this incident as well?

Last call for alcohol.

Makes you do things you might otherwise think twice about doing when sober.

It would be just in situations like this to execute the perpetrator on the spot. Shoot him with his own gun and call the trash collector to remove the carcass before it starts to bloat and stink.

I don't know what your narcotic of choice is but considering the last several posts you have made I would try rehab!
