Police have arrested a man who had been on the run for more than 17 years after allegedly shooting a rival.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), working with the Special Operations Division, apprehended at a construction site in Bang Sao Thong, Samut Prakan province. He is facing charges of attempted murder.

According to police, the suspect fired a gun at the victim, who survived and later filed a complaint. Following the investigation, authorities secured a court-issued arrest warrant. The suspect then evaded capture for nearly two decades.

Officers tracked Mr. Prap to the construction site, where they presented themselves, showed the arrest warrant, and informed him of his legal rights. He confirmed his identity and admitted he had not previously been arrested in connection with the case.

The suspect was subsequently taken into custody and transferred to Nam Phat Police Station to face legal proceedings.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Pol Lt Gen Jiraphop Puridet, Commissioner of CIB, and senior officers of the Special Operations Division.
