A friend of mine entered Thailand visa exempt, then got a new passport from his embassy in Bangkok and now wants to get the 30-day extension. His entry stamp is in his now invalidated old passport.

Question:

Can he just go to IT Square Laksi to apply for the 30-day extension with both passports and they will transfer his entry stamp to the new passport right there, or does he need to go to Chaeng Watthana first to get his stamp transferred?

I haven't seen any firsthand reports for this exact situation, so if anyone knows and can save him a trip to potentially the wrong immigration office, that would be very much appreciated.
