Bangkok Bank Visa debit card

Just a note with information on Bangkok bank .On top of all the other issues with this bank ,it is also not possible to use it's visa card on many overseas websites such as Amazon and Apple. Ending my card with the bank before the next annual fee. No point having a visa card if it has restrictions on use for well.established secure websites. Other Thai bank bank K, SCB don't have this issue .

Bangkok bank cards are TPN (Thai Payment Network) cards processed locally in Thailand (by a Chinese company), not real Mastercard Or VISA cards, which is why they don't work for many websites.

 

They work great in China though!

Bangkok Bank Visa cards run on the global Visa network (not TPN-only), but the bank is more conservative than others and may block payments with extra rules — so you’ll need to contact them. TPN itself is a Thai–Chinese joint venture, not purely Chinese. It took me quite a while to figure out why European VPAY cards don’t work in most of Thailand’s ATMs, but I’ve slept much better since switching to cards with the Mastercard logo. It really stops being a mess once you learn how to navigate the system.

I contacted them.  I knew it blocked Amazon but only found out Apple.com also. When I asked for a list of websites outside of Thailand which  its Visa card can't be used they declined. Informing me 'You ask what payment site and we tell you yes or no '
