Perhaps he works from home, so he's in all day working on his computer. 

 

I stay inside most of the time too, with AC running, I go out daily for an early morning walk, then after that I'm mostly inside. I've had some skin cancers, so I avoid the sunlight as much as possible, plus I'm busy online every day. Unless I have some outside business, or I'm taking my wife shopping, I stay in.

It WAS a detached villa. He was just in the next over. Just needed more land and an iron gate.

 

I knew the guy socially so knew what he was up to.
