There's not a lot I agree with Orban but in this instance he is dead right and any mittel European power should fear it with a vengeance.

Ukraine has ordered 18 modern IRIS‑T air defense systems from the German company Diehl Defence to strengthen its frontline defenses, stated Diehl Defence CEO Helmut Rauch at a conference on Friday, January 23.

Rauch said that Ukraine already operates nine IRIS‑T launchers, and the additional order will help better protect critical infrastructure and territories on the frontlines.

The CEO noted that the IRIS‑T SLM and SLS systems are considered among the most advanced stationary air defense systems in Europe. Ukraine is actively using them to protect critical infrastructure from Russian attacks, shooting down cruise missiles and drones, including Iranian-made Shahed drones.

German officials have repeatedly said that IRIS‑T is one of the most effective Western systems in Ukraine’s arsenal. Notably, IRIS‑T missiles are highly maneuverable and can hit targets both head-on and while pursuing them.

Turns out you Flamingo cheerleaders beleived the bs but it has been a great grift for the corruption laundromat.

It's worth noting that Fire Point isn't exactly scandal-free. The company has been under investigation by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine for corruption and sheltering a draft-dodger.

According to The Kyiv Independent, NABU alleged that Timur Mindich—an ally of Ukrainian Pres. Volodymyr Zelenskyy—headed a group getting kickbacks from government contracts. Mindich allegedly has ties to Fire Point, although the company has denied it.

It’s a confusing and troubling mess. And while it’s obvious Fire Point does build effective weapons—the FP-1 and FP-2 attack drones stand out—it’s not yet clear the Flamingo is among them. For now, it may be mostly hype.

SINGAPORE/MOSCOW, Jan 26 (Reuters) - Russian fuel oil exports to Asia slowed in early 2026 as rising scrutiny due to tighter Western sanctions hampered trade while Ukrainian drone attacks on refining facilities in Russia reduced output, according to shipping data and industry sources.

Russian fuel oil exports to Asia have totalled about 1.2 million metric tons (about 246,000 barrels per day) so far in January and are on track to slide for a third straight month, ship-tracking data from Kpler showed on Friday.

Output of Russian refined products has fallen since October as several refineries have shut for repairs following Ukrainian drone attacks. Stormy winter weather in December and January has also impacted cargo loadings.

"Buyers are unwilling to take on risks given the strong sanction monitoring and penalties," said Emril Jamil, senior analyst at LSEG, following U.S. sanctions on Russian producers Rosneft and Lukoil in October.

A fuel oil trader said it was now more complicated to move cargoes from the sanctioned refiners as there were multiple layers involved, such as ship-to-ship transfers.

On the night of January 26, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck infrastructure at an oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban (Krasnodar Krai, Russia). In addition, many other Russian targets were hit, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The annual potential processing capacity of this enterprise exceeds 4 million tons of oil. This plant is part of the Russian energy sector and is involved in supplying the Russian armed forces.

Ukrainian Defense Forces also struck the logistics warehouses of Russian units in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk city and Zaporizhzhia (Solodkovodne village) regions.

In addition, strikes were carried out on the drone control point of the unit in the area of Velyka Novosilka (temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region) and on concentrations of Russian forces in the areas of Yunakivka (temporarily occupied territory of Sumy region) and Kolisnykivka (temporarily occupied territory of Kharkiv region).

A series of powerful explosions began around 12 midnight. According to eyewitnesses, a direct hit on the Kacha airfield near Sevastopol was recorded. Explosions are also reported in the area of the Saki airfield in Novofedorivka, where local residents heard not only detonations but also intense bursts of large-caliber weapons.

Explosions also occurred in the area of Cape Fiolent directly before the air raid alert was announced in Sevastopol. Residents of Kerch reported missiles flying over the city, after which traffic on the Kerch Bridge was completely stopped in both directions.

HELSINKI, Jan 27 (Reuters) - China and its President Xi Jinping have the opportunity to bring about an end to Russia's war in Ukraine by influencing President Vladimir Putin and reducing cooperation, Finland's Prime Minister Petteri Orpo told reporters in Beijing on Tuesday.

China's Xi earlier on Tuesday said he had told Orpo that China and Finland should uphold a U.N.-centred international system and advance a multipolar world based on economic globalisation.

Are you sure you are living in reality?

Sure there is/was massive corruption in the Ukraine but nowhere as bad as in russia itself!

As far as weird mental bubble? You are in your own little misguided world.

Did I say anything about Russia here? You're like a little boy who sh$t it's underpants but pointing other boy because he spilled a water on the floor. I'm talking about banderland., not comparing to anyone. I know this "country" inside out since 3 decades. And I know their "historical achievements". Until corruption and lies was their inner problem (and problem of tormented russian minorities living in this sinister land) I didn't care. But for the last 4 years I'm involuntarily forced by the system to fund this hoax by my money to keep this ungrateful parasite alive. This makes me (and many reasonable thinking people) mad.

A bungling Russian soldier was blown up in a Ukrainian airstrike after he was spotted strafing the battlefield dressed in what appeared to be a penguin disguise.

Bizarre pictures taken on the frontlines of Vladimir Putin's invasion show a figure awkwardly waddling in a snowy vista while dressed in a hooded, cloaked costume. The figure appears to stumble around the area before stopping to survey the scene, revealing the costume's strange squared shoulders and "beak" protruding from its hood.

The unusual outfit appeared to have been designed to disguise its wearer from drone tracking - but a follow-up clip shows it failed to protect him from speedy annihilation at the hands of Ukrainian operators.

About 1.2 million Russian troops have been killed, wounded or are missing since its invasion of Ukraine almost four years ago, a rate of casualties for a major military power not seen since World War II, a new report from a prominent international think tank says.

And the enormous human toll has secured relatively small territorial gains on the battlefield, with Russia increasing the amount of Ukrainian land under its control by just 12% since 2022, the report from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) says.

The report calls into question assumptions in many circles, including in the White House, that a Russian victory in Ukraine is inevitable and incoming.

NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte told the World Economic Forum in Switzerland earlier this month that Moscow lost 1,000 troops a day in December.

“Not seriously wounded, dead,” he said.

“In the 1980s in Afghanistan, the Soviets lost 20,000 in 10 years. Now they lose 30,000 in one month,” Rutte said.

New troops are becoming increasingly hard to find, foreign analysts say.
