Iran orchestrated 'dangerous acts of aggression' in Australia

Featured Replies

Australia is expelling Iran's ambassador amid allegations that Iran directed antisemitic attacks in Sydney and Melbourne. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese described the attacks as "extraordinary acts of aggression" by a foreign nation. Although no one was injured, the incidents have led to significant diplomatic fallout.

The Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (Asio) chief, Mike Burgess, reported intelligence indicating Iran is "likely" responsible for further attacks on Jewish targets in Australia. Ambassador Ahmad Sadeghi, along with three other Iranian officials, has been given seven days to leave the country. Iran has not yet commented on the allegations.

Burgess cited attempts by Iran to hide its involvement. However, Asio linked Iran to attacks on Sydney’s Lewis Continental Kitchen on 20 October and Melbourne’s Adass Israel Synagogue on 6 December last year.

This move marks the first expulsion of an ambassador by Australia since World War Two, noted Foreign Minister Penny Wong. While some diplomatic channels with Tehran will remain open, Australia has suspended operations at its embassy in Iran to ensure staff safety.

Wong also advised Australians to avoid traveling to Iran, urging those currently in the country to leave if it is safe. Additionally, the Australian government plans to designate Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organisation, escalating diplomatic tensions.

These actions highlight Australia's robust response to foreign interference, prioritising national and community security. The government's measures underscore its commitment to international standards amidst increasing tensions.

As this situation unfolds, it marks a significant shift in Australia-Iran relations, reflecting Australia’s determination to address external threats with decisive action.

The Iranian Islamic fundamentalist govt aims to destabalise western countries. The pro-Palestinian agitators are participants in this with the leftist/progressive protesters being unknowing paticipants to this aim.

Guess they got it wrong. It's rather the Ambassador from another country that is murdering civilians, journalists, bombing hospitals, that should have been expelled.
