Sofascore - Banned Website?

Featured Replies

I have been using the website sofascore to get football results and other sports results for a while. There are similar websites, but I quite like the format of this one.

A few months ago, it became impossible to access the website from my home or on my phone - I get a 'Server not found' message. I am with AIS. I assumed that the website had been banned in Thailand for some reason, perhaps because it sometimes has adverts for gambling websites. This surprised me a lot because it's quite a popular website and seemed completely legitimate to me (it just shows live scores and stats, no links to dodgy streams). The sofascore app seems to continue to work without problems.

Then, a few days ago, I was on my office WIFI (no idea who that's through) and clicked on sofascore and it worked without any problems. Then checked at home on AIS and still seems to be banned.

Can anyone explain what is going on? Would AIS stop access to some websites that were not banned in Thailand as a whole? I am really confused by this!

Can anyone check (AIS or otherwise) if you can access this website?

I  just downloaded the App on my phone and it works, But I am using True. The website is also working for me without incident.

There are definitely a lot of ads within the App, which link to betting sites. Also the App is designed for betting, with links to dropping odds as well as current odds prominently displayed.

I have AIS internet, I can't access it. If I turn my VPN on I can.

Also I use AIS mobile and can't access it on there either.

It seems that AIS is blocking this, and many other sites, by removing them from the DNS lookup.  The simple way around this is to change which DNS server(s) your browser is using.  I use Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) and can access the site without issue.

I use Google DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

You can change the DNS settings in a broadband fibre router, from AIS for example.

You can change the DNS settings on a PC, usually within the specific Network Adapter settings.

You can also set static DNS servers on a phone, Android (for me) Settings, Network & internet, Private DNS, Private DNS provider hostname, enter dns.google

TRUE'S EPL contract finished at the end of last season and JAS International won the new contract for the EPL TV  rights for the next 6years and sub contracted the rights to  AIS and MONOMAX who now have the contract (6 years) for the EPL tv rights in Thailand Laos and Cambodia.

Sign up fees,   AIS 1999Baht,  MONOMAX  2999bht for the season.   I signed up with AIS and have no problems watching the games live or replays.

I would think this is why you are having problems

I have been using  "Scores & fixtures - BBC Sport -1"   on my laptop for over 15 years.   It gives all the results down to Leagues 1&2, and world wide results.

Never had a problem with it and so simple to use.
