Ban guns before you start praying

Three people have died in a shooting at a US primary school, including the shooter, and 20 have been injured.

The Minneapolis city government said the shooter had been “contained” after gunfire at the Annunciation Catholic School, and there was no longer any “active threat” to residents.

Police, ambulances, FBI and other federal agents were on the scene as a person answering the phone there said students were being evacuated.

“There is no active threat to the community at this time. The shooter is contained,” the City of Minneapolis said on X.

Three dead and 20 injured in US primary school mass shooting

For God's sake Americans, just ban guns. It ain't that difficult. Most developed countries have strict gun laws.

The UK has a problem with knives, but not with guns which will kill or injure far more.

After every incident where innocent people, including kids, are shot and killed, the usual high profile US public figures come out and announce they're praying for the victims.

Before they do that, ban the damn guns, if anything for Christ's sake.

There has NEVER been a single gun convicted of committing a crime. :coffee1:

We have already entered the age of print on demand guns.

The gun used by Luigii Mangione to do his hit was printed on a 3D printer. As was the surpressor.

You can now print your gun, and semi-automatic machine gun, using a 3D printer.

What success will your gun control laws have in the future?

Precisely Zero.

would love to print a FGC-9.

How ever as 3D printers were illegal to import into Thailand for many years (because you can 3D print a gun).

I do not have the balls to down load the files as Iam sure big brother is watching <deleted> like that.

Blimey, I didn't know inanimate objects could be taken to court.

The best 3D printers are now available on Lazada.

Just use a VPN. What's the problem?

The only issue, you'd have to pay 1200 USD. Those printers and the materials are not cheap.

I agree (and I thought that was what I explained? Obviously, I wasn't clear enough).

The looser the restrictions on gun ownership, the higher the incident of gun deaths and injuries.

Yet there are restrictions on gun ownership in the US than ever.

When I was a kid, anyone  18 or older could by a gun, and all the sporting goods stores sold them.

It seems odd to me that so many people see guns as a bigger problem than that it seems more and more people want to kill kids.

Yah, it is a big project, several days. Then you need to test it.

And you 'd still need ammunition.

You can print ammunition too, but it is not as effective.

I have 9mm ammuntion available (for my glock).

Then I guess you know what caliber gun would be best to 3D print..

The Glock is of course the most 3D printed gun, tons of plans online.

You should try it out on yourself first. Nothing like first hand experience to promote a product.

No need, you can use water melons. Or giant jelly horse penises from sex shops.

You cannot just "print" a firearm . You cant print a barrel, you cant print parts that must be hardened to a certain spec (sears, firing pins, extractors, bolts etc). What you can do is plastic print a frame or lower receiver that can accept parts. Thus you could print an M4 lower or a Glock frame (both would be subject to firerams laws). You could print an M4 upper, but you still need a barrel.

A pistol frame would require a non printed slide (hardened)

Yes, but the parts you need, you can freely obtain by post, because those are just parts of a gun and not subject to the same restrictions as actual guns.

I believe you can print a barrel that wil last a few shots

Exactly.

So a gun ban would do nothing since there are millions and millions and millions of gun parts out there.

Sieze AR-15 parts? You could print them AND harden them. The only thing on a gun that requires "specialized" equipment are barrels.

Exactly, even the regulated barrels can be had online by sellers not concerned with regulations.

You may have to order a few other parts apart from barrels, but it's all avail;able online.

Exactly. Any person with a file can make a gun.  The problem with barrel making is sourcing the correct steel and the accuracy of the bore and rifling as well as the heat treatment. But, one can turn down a truck axle, bore it out roughly to a large caliber and hammer a crude button through it to get a jezail...but you arent getting something that will handle the 80,000 psi of the 6.8. The jezail will kill you dead though.

I had a Khyber Pass Webley that i shot with a vise, safety goggles and string, and it would hit you as long as you were 10 feet to the right.

You can do it with a copper pipe too.

When every man and his dog has a 3D printer how will gun control then work? How would it be possible to control what a man can print in his own backyard?

Simple, every dog will undergo police training to savage its owner once it sees its owner handle a gun of any description.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that gun ownership is of more concern than - if true - that an increasing number of lunatics want to kill kids, however, there is no getting away from the fact that a gun is the preferred tool in these killings.

That one falls off the ledge into the depths of stupidity
