RFK's Brain Worm Speaks?

The 71-year-old wellness conspiracist warned reporters Wednesday that America’s children are suffering from “mitochondrial challenges,” an non-clinical term that suggests Kennedy is capable of peering into a person’s cellular health at a glance.

“I know what a healthy child is supposed to look like,” Kennedy said. “I’m looking at kids as I walk through the airports today, as I walk down the street, and I see these kids that are overburdened with mitochondrial challenges, with inflammation, you can tell from their faces, from their body movements and from their lack of social connection.”

You having a laugh bro? Despite the overwhelming opposition of the medical community, Kennedy has continued his longstanding crusade against vaccines and his advocacy of conspiracy theories that have been rejected repeatedly by scientific experts. The reality is that Kennedy has profited from and built a career on sowing mistrust in vaccines. Now, as head of the Department of Health and Human Services he is using his authority to launch a full-blown war on science, on public health and on truth itself.

Are you kidding?are you a flat earther?that’s the most nonsensical thing I’ve read in a long time.perhaps you should apply for a speech writer position for the trumtanic administration.

I've never heard that expression before.

And I agree that RFK Jr. is being silly as it is impossible to gauge the mitochondrial health of a human being just by looking at them.

I agree with you on this. Maybe the power of this position is getting to RFK Jr's head a bit.

Just your usual MAGA response - nonsensical, devoid of facts, with the usual conspiracy thrown in for good measure.
It’s almost impressive to see the mental gymnastics required to be a MAGA devotee. It must be exhausting.

So nothing to restore the faith in experts in your reply, just empty trolling. Next

I put some more thought into this as I was on my treadmill this morning.

While it may be easy to dismiss RFK as looney tunes, there's another way to look at this.

Sure, "mitochondrial challenges" might be fluff .... BUT ... how many people in his position have actually mentioned the word "mitochondria" before? How many people actually know what mitochondria even means? I have only started to educate myself on mitochondria in the past couple of years. Maybe only 5% of the population have any clue what it means.

So RFK is spewing a bunch of stuff out there which may appear nonsensical, but here we are having a conversation about mitochondria. Maybe a couple of soccer moms out there will go look it up and get their little boy off the Doritos because now they understand Doritos damages their mitochondria.

So to summarize, maybe RFK is a bit of a mad genius. Not to be taken entirely at face value and it doesn't mean you need to cling to every word he says as gospel, but he's raising awareness about health issues like no one else before him in his position.

Not only is he inventing disorders, but he claims he can spot them on sight. This is the guy we want deciding about scientific research? Laughable.

All sides of the US political spectrum have contributed to the mess you are now in with people like RFK Jnr as Health Sec., pointing fingers at just "the left" misses the broader picture of your entire nation.

The Guardian on why RFK Jr could be the most transformative health secretary ever .. even though he may spew some unfounded scientific claims.

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/nov/21/can-rfk-tranform-healthcare-system-policy

Spouting unfounded scientific claims is corrosive to a functioning democracy. It weakens the bonds of trust in our public institutions ...

He will have a massive impact on our broken, expensive and largely ineffectual delivery of healthcare services.

he can be the most transformative health secretary in our country’s history.

This is because RFK Jr has articulated what our Democratic and Republican leaders have largely ignored: our healthcare system is a national disgrace hiding in plain sight. He recognizes the inordinate control the pharmaceutical and food industries over healthcare policy, and the revolving door that exists among congressional staffers, pharmaceutical lobbyists and corporate executives.
