Where does it say which benefits were being discussed exclusively?

In the article which I guess you did not bother to read........

I was in a hurry when I posted, so I just tagged it to a current comment

The comment about not receiving benefits when living abroad was a specific argument between 2 posters to do with benefits mentioned in the article.

I even specifically made a comment in my OP referencing the State Pension saying it was not being discussed.......

  • I think it is that if say you are here in Thailand you do not get any increase despite what the UK gives to people in the UK. This in my opinion is wrong but that is not what this topic is about. Some

Presumably they would be claiming the exact same amount if they were living in the UK......the problem is they are spending it abroad?   Out of interest I asked A1 to bring up Daily Mail hea

  • Which has nothing to do with the benefits being talked about........ What point were you trying to make?

This bit is quite important

Officials matched Child Benefit records with 'international travel data' to look for claimants who appeared to have moved abroad.

Are the Government using data from the scanning machines at airport ?

Does the Gov have  database of who is in the UK and who isnt ?

Matched child benefits to international travel.....any supposed benefit  I guess   start and finish international journey in nearby country, probably cheaper than UK start.....Dublin 10 quid single ferry journey, cheap cabin ,soda Irish brekkie, top of the mornin'.......

They shouldn't be receiving any benefits if living abroad

They are making illegal benefit claims

That so....paid for 30/40 years,   nothing illegal, govt made it so,they think,.......nothing will happen   rules /regulations says so    awaiting J1 too

You used to have to go to an office to claim bennys then they went all online so making it easier for fraudsters to operate ,it’s their own fault for cutting jobs

The benefits are for people living in the UK .

Benefits are not to British people living abroad .

You will be not good when you have to pay all the benefits back when they find out

That will never happen ,paying back and finding out, (only if informing on yourself)  all pie in the sky, passing through airport triggering alarm/PP pages, its a hoax that the IPC love,no need to do anything, let people themselves do the scary stuff, let jealousy take on a new meaning Nobody has been sanctioned or punished,or ever will be . DWP tried to affix a frozen pension years ago on a couple ,failed,do not think third attempt will succeed either, anyway that's it,pity for the frozen bunch, hoping against hope that years of sacrifice will eventually pay off by jailing the miscreates,it wont

They made it easy for fraudsters by sacking the staff and closing the offices and going online ,so it’s easy peasy, for conmen to make multiple claims from anywhere in the world,,very clever of them

Claiming state pension (anywhere in the world) is not conning anyone.  Only last week Houses of Parliament  DWP official stated SP as a benefit will not be investigated under the forthcoming benefits bill,is jealousy getting to you?

The fear of some, is that UK pensions will be means tested. Who here, even heard the UK State Pension is classed as a benefit pre-covid? They could well include those living abroad as receiving a benefit of state pension - despite making 35 years of contributions. Even likely? How will that work? Makes a frozen pension look generous!

What many don't realise, is that, someone who never worked a day in their life (on unemployment), is entitled to full state pension. Or pension credit, which, with a disability can even work out more than state pension. Not that the UK state pension is generous. Good luck everyone. I'm worried, how about you?

Not paying ni contributions,or lack of them will receive pension credit, not state pension, will be monitored constantly ,not allowed but for few weeks out of UK,sp can go anywhere no monitoring.      Think 35 grand is figure for means testing

More nonsense from the usual source.

National Insurance credits are available for lots of circumstances giving access to full state pension.  Often these are caring for kids or adult dependants and can be milked for years giving access to a full state pension.

Full list of how to get NI Credits,  which are different from Pension Credit which is a benefit for those of state pension age but on a low income.

https://www.gov.uk/national-insurance-credits/eligibility

Even with lack of paid NI stamps they can still get SS which is likely not short of full bennys, with UC and PIP possible to add on and housing credit
