September 6, 2025Sep 6 Author Jackpot is now up to 1.8 billion USD. The lump sum option would thus be 826.4 billion Which means the actual payout, net of US taxes, would be a cool 521 billion USD.

I'm not wasting $2 on that pittance of a pay out What does the Thai lottery pay for their $2.5 ticket ... If you can find one for ฿80. If only 1 ticket wins ... Holy Sh!t Batman ... let that one sink in 😎

If you can find one for ฿80. If only 1 ticket wins ... Holy Sh!t Batman ... let that one sink in 😎 You know what's the smartest thing you can do with the money? Put it in a diversified portfolio of banks, US, Cayman, Singapore, Switzerland/Germany, Thailand., and then DO NOT spend the principal, rather invest in government bonds and AAA rated corporates, at a conservative 4% that would give you a cool 1.7 million USD PER MONTH for spending. And your capital would just keep growing. The only issue, yes it would be sensible, but where's the fun? No jets, no yachts, no real estate, no island? So what would you have 521 billion for anyway? Hahahaha, so the lottery winner tomorrow will have more money than Elon Musk. Wow, it's a funny old life.
September 6, 2025Sep 6 Author The best way to invest 521 million USD: 50 million into a Stock Index Fund - This will yield 125,000 USD in monthly income. Though if you invest it yourself in AAA companies, that would be even better of course, as funds are more likely to fail than AAA corporates. 50 million into a bond index fund - This will yield 125,000 USD in monthly income too. 10 milllion into commercial and residential real estate - this will yield 25,000 USD in monthly income. I would personally trade 10 million in Forex, which on my past performance would yield 1 million USD in monthly income. 40 million would go into gold, not gold mining companies, but actual gold bars. As gold has increasd 90% in value in the last 5 years, this could yield a 20 million increase in capital in short 5 year period, conservatively. Maybe double that. I would then invest 40 million in bitcoin, as I believe in the future. This could yield a 200 million appreciation in five years, going on past 5 years bitcoin peformance. You'd need an iron cash reserve of 10 million, just in case. , I would then invest 40 milliion in promising start-ups. The HR company Deel for instance went from 0 in 2019 to a 12.6 billion valuation in 2025. I would invest a further 50 million in starting up businesses of my own. Now we're down to 221 million. This would be my spending money. So this would go, as discussed previously on a private jet (a snip at 30 million for a used one), a yacht (another 30 million), homes in Colorado, Hawaii, Grand Cayman, Italy, Spain, France, Austria, Vietnam, Bali, Singapore and Thailand., at a total cost of 100 milllion USD. So this means I can afford to buy my private island at 60 million. I guess with the remaining 1 million you can set up foundations to support worthy causes.

At 50 million you'd get a 2 million annual return, so 166,666 per month. I wrote 50 billion, but I meant 50 miillion, my bad. Good spot. I just realised we would be poor compared to real billionaires like Elon Musk. They have 430 billion, we'd only have close to 2 billion. Not fair.
September 6, 2025Sep 6 Author Luckily we have the court case between Johnny Depp and his former management company, which disclosed that Mr Depp's MONTHLY personal expenses were 2 million USD. This includes maintenance of his island, private jet, yacht, 14 residences around the world, 40 staff, medical care and therapy, and maintaining his drug habit and funding extravagant women like Amber Heard. So we can safely say that our monthly costs would be in the region of 2 million USD, no higher.
September 6, 2025Sep 6 Author Depp's 40 staff cost him 300,000 USD monthly. They include: Chefs, drivers, and other house personnel, like cleaners Personal assistants. You wouldn't want to pick up your own laundry anymore. Bodyguards. A doctor and a thearpist and a masseuse.

Ok, I'm not happy 100% about this calculation still. I think the charitable and private army staff expenditures are not fully accounted for However, I don't think you shouild make the mistake that Mr McAffee made, maintaining your private army in full open view of the authorities could raise animosity from the locals. You should really keep your private army as a special commando, that is hidden from view but can be called up at a moment's notice, when needed. I would estimate that 100 men of calibre would incur a cost of 6 million annually, including equipment.. A major expenditure. But worth it should you ever need real firepower to deal with enemies. In terms of charity I think perhaps 2.5 billion as spent by Bill Gates are impossible on a measly 521 million lottery win, so one would have to be more modest and say perhaps 60 million. Is that reasonable for charity?
September 6, 2025Sep 6 I would have no problem collecting with my legal name, if not incognito. As I've changed my last name twice. Only my FB friends know my legal name, and that's of of 3 non family members. Only have 10 FB friends. So there's $10 to $20M gone already. Nobody would realize they know me, or recognize me, since living here 25 yrs 25 yrs ago, dark hair, never without full beard or goatee ... now, more salt than pepper & clean shaven. Family here, TH would be safe, as I'd be 'Mr LA' from NJ or CA, USA.

And yes, you can play from Thailand legally, not via black market lotteries but with one legit website. However, you will win a measly 400 million USD due to state taxes, still, worth a flutter! How would you spend 400 million USD? I'd buy a lot of Bitcoin.
September 7, 2025Sep 7 This morning red, 2 players won the jackpot, 1.8 billion. I would have no clue what to do then. 400 million in pocket! You better ask winners in UK, they won way less and spend it all in jiffy time. Docu's available but was decade ago or so. Was, believe yesterday on yahoo news, a couple took a mortgage of 65 million $! But ok with a 400 million, you can buy cash, if wise. But you can go down easily, see Michael Jackson, Johnny "guitar" Watson. Just some names. A striking story on yahoo was from Sophie Rains. She made 80 MILLION $ in a year time on "only fans" What you may call a good business. Respect. I do however, question the men, buying. Do the math for a year, amazing. However I see it as a lottery and it worked out real good for her. Can you imagine?! But she donated 1 million $ to Mr Beast for water project in Africa( said global)! Google was also a party in it, only donating 2 million $. Little cheap for such company. Never the less the action of Mr Beast is really mind blowing. He seems to be a billionaire He not only fund raised, but immediately act and put up a 100 water wells for many people in Africa. 40 million he raised ! Thats what I call a positive influencer ! Only 431 MILLION subscribers on youtube ! So with 400 milllion $? In my mind as it is now, could never spend that. Yes, probably would think about doing something good. Hope to hang on that plan, IF I ... First of all , I think some wise information. There is a story about a UK Woman, who won. She didnt tell anyone, as she wanted her family wouldnt change in behavior. That is quite a burden. Yes money changes you. First thing maybe ever, import an Campagna T rex, I realy like to have such thing.

There's about 10 milion people that live in poverty in Thailand. You couldn't even given them 1000 USD, you'd be broke. You'd have to be selective and choose a few to benefit from your win. How would you select them?

A few years ago I was sitting in a cafe on Soi Yume behind the Big C. watched dozens of physically handicapped people head towards Big C. Some were limping, some on crutches, some in wheel chairs, some limping while helping push others etc. I think from the redemptorists organization place? Anyway, they were smiling as they went. Gosh seeing that, that would be one of the first places I would help. Then many orphanages, home for wayward angels, etc.

Whilst I would strongly support medical causes, especially parkinson's, cancer and similar research, in a way the Gates foundation is already doing that with hundreds of billions from Buffet and Gates. It would almost be better to donate to the Gates foundation, for my purposes. In a way you would have to put in place a vetting process if you help particular individuals. You wouldn't want to help a serial killer necessarily. You'd have to think about other disqualification criteria. I would aim to aim help older men in particular. I think many people help older women, but very few people help and love older men.
September 8, 2025Sep 8 Author I have bad news for anyone wanting to play the 320 Mega Millions jackpot: "We also stress that Mega Millions rules prohibit the purchase of tickets by agents representing players in other jurisdictions." https://www.megamillions.com/faqs.aspx#:~:text=You do not need to,sold outside the United States. This is a real cause of concern for me and a reason I won't be playing Mega Millions. Unlike Powerball, which does not have this on their website, if there is a prohibition on agents purchasing tickets for players in other jurisdictions this would be a serious problem with Mega Milions. I've contacted Mega Millions direct for clarification.

I think there is a levelling off point after which having money ceases to increase happiness. i think that's quite right. Even worse, money can amplify your character flaws. If you are inclined to drink, take drugs, whore etc then obviously having millions could be your downfall. If you're inclined to become a serial killer then having millions could make that happen. It's quite dangerous to have that much money.

Losing weight, even with a personal trainer, is hard, ending a poor relationship even with an advisor, is very hard, overcoming mental health issues is very hard, even with money, or some other major health issues. Poor relatioinships with family could be made worse by disputes over money. You need wisdom to spend a lot of money and even more to keep it.
