In a heart-wrenching incident that has gripped Thailand, a murder-suicide carried out by a 35-year-old man in the Khlong Luang district of Pathum Thani has left a family shattered. On Tuesday, September 2, Kiattisak, whose affair with his teenage sister-in-law had recently come to light, tragically ended the lives of several family members before taking his own.

The dreadful sequence of events unfolded at the home of Kiattisak's wife, 26-year-old Nannaphat. After discovering the affair, Nannaphat had hoped to address the situation by organising a family discussion at her brother-in-law's residence. However, Kiattisak did not attend the meeting. Instead, he went to Nannaphat’s house, where the violence erupted.

At the scene, Nannaphat's mother, 46-year-old Thatsanee, was found dead. Her uncle, 43-year-old Chaiwat, and her 13-year-old sister, the teenager at the centre of the affair, were severely injured. Chaiwat and the teenager later succumbed to their injuries in hospital, as reported by the Hone Krasae programme on Channel 3.

Another victim, 36-year-old Anulak, managed to ride his motorcycle to a nearby hospital to seek medical aid for himself. His condition has not been disclosed further.

The tragedy could have been even worse, as Nannaphat revealed that her five-year-old son was asleep inside the house during the attack but was unharmed by Kiattisak.

Local law enforcement from Khlong Ha Police Station is currently compiling evidence to fully understand the case. Unfortunately, security footage from the house was unavailable because Nannaphat had disconnected the camera in an attempt to prevent Kiattisak from gaining access.

The bodies of the victims are undergoing autopsy at Thammasat University Hospital, after which they will be returned to the family for funeral proceedings.

This horrific event underscores the devastating impact of domestic strife and serves as a stark reminder of the complexities that can underlie personal relationships. As the investigation continues, the community remains in shock, mourning the loss of the innocent lives caught in this tragic event.
