The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has successfully dismantled a drug distribution and vehicle plate forgery network in Pattaya.

In a coordinated operation, officers from the CIB and the Highway Police Division arrested 33-year-old Mr. Rachan on charges of distributing Class 1 narcotics for commercial purposes, as well as forging and using counterfeit official documents.

The investigation stemmed from an earlier arrest of another suspect, Ms. Pong-Oi and her accomplices for possession of methamphetamine and use of fake licence plates. During questioning, Ms. Pong-Oi revealed that she had purchased methamphetamine from Mr. Rachan and had hired him to forge vehicle registration plates.

Further inquiries revealed that Mr. Rachan had been continuously supplying drugs to local customers in Pattaya. Authorities obtained a court-issued arrest warrant and tracked him down. At the time of his arrest, he appeared to be under the influence of narcotics and attempted to flee.

A search of Mr. Rachan’s residence uncovered a significant quantity of drug paraphernalia and an additional bag of Class 2 psychoactive substances (ketamine). He has been taken into custody at Nong Prue Police Station and will also be held under a separate warrant for document forgery from Pattaya City Police Station. Investigators are continuing to trace other members of the network.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Pol. Lt. Gen. Jiraphop Phuridej, CIB Chief, Pol. Maj. Gen. Kongkrit Lertsittikul, Highway Police Division Chief, and Pol. Col. Apichat Renshana, Division Commander.
