Authorities have raided a property in Maeklong, seizing more than 50,000 e-cigarettes, refill liquids, and components worth over 8 million baht. Some of the devices were disguised as cartoon toys, raising concerns they were intended to appeal to minors.

The operation, led by Pol. Maj. Gen. Thasphoom Charuprat, commander of the Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECD), and executed by officers under Pol. Col. Naruphon Karuna and Pol. Lt. Col. Noppakun Tatsanamalai, followed a court-authorised search of a house in Ban Prok Subdistrict, Muang District, Samut Songkhram.

Investigations revealed that the property had been used to import e-cigarettes and related products from China and store them for distribution to local networks, particularly targeting young people. Officers discovered numerous cardboard boxes containing e-cigarettes, refill liquids and devices resembling children’s toys.

The house’s tenant, Ms. Bussaba, claimed she had rented the property in 2023 and was unaware it was being used as an e-cigarette distribution centre. Authorities confiscated all items and are pursuing the owner of the e-cigarettes for legal action.

The raid highlights ongoing efforts by authorities to curb the illegal import and distribution of e-cigarettes, particularly those designed to attract minors.

How do they know they would target young people? Because they smuggled in dolls?. They are so phobic for e cigatettes that they use every opportunity to show that youth is using it. Hardly never heat anymore about the weed candies and the use in food drugs.. the news is now ecigarettes, while many policemen and government officials including teachers are vaping.... Thailand is full of crazyness
