A man suspected of having an affair with a navy serviceman’s wife, shoot him multiple times in his home in Phun Phin district, Surat Thani, police have confirmed.

The victim, Chief Petty Officer Napath 38, was found dead in his bedroom at the end of his bed, having sustained several gunshot wounds to the torso. Seven spent shell casings were recovered from the scene.

According to the victim’s wife, her husband was serving at the Thap Lamu Naval Base in Phang Nga and typically returned home on weekends. On the night of the incident, she was in the bathroom when she heard gunfire and rushed out to find her husband dead.

Police have identified the suspect as Mr. Saksit, 28, who allegedly had a secret relationship with the victim’s wife. Authorities report that the suspect had previously threatened to kill the victim and fled the scene in a grey four-door Isuzu pickup truck.

Investigators are examining CCTV footage, interviewing witnesses and have taken the victim’s wife in for questioning. A warrant for the suspect’s arrest is being sought.

The case remains under active investigation.
