Dear Folks,

 

Have I ever mentioned this before, at least in one of my many past glorious Topics?

 

Here where I live, out in the jungle, anytime I infrequently have my nostrils filled with the scent of cheap perfume, then it’s a night to remember.

 

Just this evening, during the period of a few hours, I have been hit by the scent of perfume, female perfume, wafting my way.

 

And, I can tell you that it hit me HARD, very hard….

 

So many memories of my youth flooded me from head to foot.

 

 

There is something about not having smelled perfume, cheap or not, for many years…And then….

 

All of a sudden, on any given evening, the full force of the perfume hits one, and then….

 

So many memories come flooding up from the bottom of one’s soul.

 

Actually, in my case, this evening, I smelled the smell of some fairly expensive perfume, wafting over from afar,...though how far, I cannot say.

 

Also, I can honestly say:

 

Just the smell of this perfume was enough to make me weep for my youth, a time when I spent most of my days with women, instead of myself.

 

Many years ago, in my heyday, I spent much time with women…FEMINIE women….

 

They wore perfume, and they wore nice clothes, expensive clothes, and they also wore expensive perfume.

 

So you can see how I might feel, anytime, once in a while, there is this scent of expensive perfume wafting my way…..and my knowing that I will never again experience the scent of a woman.

 

I guess you must realize that the FARM GIRLS around here are probably the best. And, I have no regrets since farm girls are better for me, in the long run….

 

But, just once in a while, I smell this expensive perfume, and then I begin to dream about what might have been, if I had chosen Paris instead of Chiang Mai.

 

Chiang Mai, as they say, is the Paris of the East.

 

And, I do believe it.

 

Next time you might get a whiff of very expensive perfume on the winds around here, then please think about what I have just said.  And then, tell me if you might not agree.

Please Note:  I have not had a real scent of the blueblood Chinese girls since I left Hong Kong, many years ago.  Those were the days I now miss so much.  And, as you know, my wife was from Hong Kong. We had servants from Jiangsu and Jiangxi to wait on us, and drive our cars. Those were special times, never to be seen again, even with horse racing at Happy Valley.

ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE to Young Guys:  Please make the most of your time in China. Because, you can never go back once your time is done, and you become old like me…..

 

And, YOU KNOW....I have spent most of my life just being the FAIR-HAIRED boy in China, for over FIFTY YEARS......

So, I guess I know that of which I speak.....

What a pity, and more is the tragedy that we now realize that Hong Kong of that day is now lost and irrecoverable.

This loss is almost unbearable....

 

No doubt, millions of people feel just as do I.

If I were you, and this is a topic dear to my heart.....

I would first go to YunNan province.

YunNan is beautiful.

 

Also, SiChuan province.

 

I would not waste my time in GuangDong or Beijing, or any places in East China, such as Shanghai.

You will be able to still find the real China if you ....GO WEST My Son....GO WEST.....

You will be happy to enjoy the different ethnic regions in China, for sure.

 

You will gain a lot by doing so.

 

Try the mountainous regions in SiChuan, for example.

 

If you go to these places, then you can STILL find, even in this modern world of ours, some better places.

 

BUT, I really must warn everyone on this TV Forum.....that.....

 

Unless you are willing to make the sacrifices to head to western China, then....

 

You just might not be able to find your way home.....

In the Thai climate, I just stopped getting those expensive Eau de toilette or Eau de Cologne from Europe.

 

Due to the high humidity here in Thailand, the scent just does not last.

 

All the better and all that saved for use only when in the west. No point wasting money here on it.

Anyway, the perfume of a Sunday evening was real.

And, this time, it was not cheap.

 

Maybe I will have to buy a bottle of it, myself.

or try wetting a 1000 THB note and rub it under the armpits. The scent of a 1000 THB bill will far more attract those lovely ladies in the Mall compared to any high end European perfume😂

Went to Hong Kong in the 80's before it was handed back and it was a great place to visit
