Does anybody know super-admin password for 3BB Huawei HG8145X6?

Featured Replies

We have 3 of this Huawei HG8145X6 - One act as the controller while the other two are AP.

Received an unused HG8145X6 from a friend but couldn't change the operating mode to AP (on the existing two AP there's a drop down menu for mode selection) I am hoping that the super-admin login would allow me to switch it to AP mode

tried these two logins but without any luck

telecomadmin / admintelecom
root / adminHW

also tried awnfibre/fibre@dm!n but Huawei HG8145X6 was likely introduced just before the merge of 3BB/AIS so didn't work either

Thiss from reddit for the Huawei HG8145X6.

Have you tried just looking at the back of the unit.  The user/pw is often just printed on the back.

Members who have not the slightest idea what the OP is about should refrain from providing advice.

You really think the OP doesn't know the login details on the sticker backside of the router?

You can also do a factory reset provided you know how to configure it.

i did the factory reset but still couldnt enable extra feature(s) that's the reason im looking for the super-admin login but thanks anyway

This user + pw is regularly used within factory setup:

user name = admin

For the password, try 4 times the zero = 0000

Usually the telecom technicians should have set it up together with you.

In case it works, I strongly recommend to change it afterwards in the router setting !

Have you considered calling 3BB?

They have excellent phone support staff.

1530 will get you talking to a support person.

Can't confirm 100% as in a Bolt. But mine is the last 4 characters (2 pairs) of the MAC address, but swapped.  So xx:xx:xx:xx:AB:CD, so pwd = CDAB.

Good luck.

Excellent advice.

The Huawei HG8145X6 device used by provider 3BB appears to have been retired by both Huawei and 3BB. Neither the original nor any custom firmware seems to be available online anymore. Otherwise, you could simply flash the original or a custom firmware to restore the missing functions.

3BB most likely applied their own custom firmware version. If you are lucky, they might disclose the password during a phone call—though that’s unlikely, especially if no password actually exists. When a service technician visits your home, you could ask them directly. However, it seems their standard procedure is to configure options remotely via an application over the internet.

That said, in this particular case, a known workaround exists. You can test it easily with an Ethernet cable between the router and the device in question. If it works, you can replace the cable with a set of powerline adapters. The trick is to check the router’s IP address and assign the device an IP address on a slightly different subnet. That should work.

Keep in mind that powerline adapters cost extra, and in some cases an unusual fuse box layout might cause problems—or, depending on your outlook, add to the challenge.

If the OP already knows all of this and simply wants to find out whether a working password exists, then that’s a different matter entirely.
