  • It is a little bit like five dimensional chess, I quite agree.   America is dictating everyone at the moment. just look what is happening.

  • Yeah pretty sad all this is happening in the US right now.   By the way, how is intel doing after Trump got his share?

  • Well, you'd do it now, as the dollar seems to be falling, of course in the future, you wait and see what happens, if the dollar goes up then you don't short it obviously.

Why would you short US dollar if manufacturing is coming back to US?

Imagine playing chess with 5 major opponents at the same time at a giga board, pluss 191 others who wants their pieces to, and America going to dictate everyone at the same time?

How do you think this will enroll?

not to forget all the world multibillioneers and companies owned by major shareholders.

What trump do now do have an domino effect, and it can go in any direction. Europe is now more concerned who is taking over the office after Don, and I hope they already making plans if this continues in the same direction. Europe will not accept being the back yard dog to America without benefits.

What is it with you leaving replies addressed to me like this today?

Sorry, I retracted my comment because I realized in retrospect is was a stupid one.

How many other people on AN actually do that when they should? Not many.

Well, undoubtedly the building of new factories and the influx of foreign capital will strrengthen the US Dollar.

That sounds nice - but isn't realistic.

Lot's of investors will for sure not invest in the US market. You can read this in european newspapaers. The chance that Trump changes his mind again is too big.

And building servers (Apple) is not rocket science. It's only to keep your faboulus new dictator in a good mood.

Buh-bye US-economy. And go on hailing youre grave digger. He shovels the big money only for him and his superrich buddies.

Europe has accepted being the backyard dog for 80 years. Why would they change now?

Wishful thinking that does not reflect reality. It's more likely the Swiss economy will sink rather than the American economy.

It was mutual beneficial for both parts, and we where treated with respect and we had a partner we could trust.

That’s not how it seems anymore, and that’s why,

How beneficial was it for Germany to be cut up without mercy and have new states created out of thin air, whilst others were taken away? How beneficial was Operation Paperclip for Germany, when the US robbed all the top talent and patents in Germany? And yet, Germany still accepted its vassal status.

How beneficial was it for Britain to lose its Empire and to be replaced by the US as the global world power? And yet, Britain begs for a "special relationship" every time.

Every relationship is beneficial for both sides, and this still continues to be the case, most EU states are export nations who make money in the US market.

There is alot to the story, but without Europe, USA would never reached the Empire you had, and the possibilities you had, which you blaim everyone else for having lost. Go figure 🤗👏🙂

Sure. Switzerland is already on a top level. USA isn't. And will not be for the next few years- maybe also decades - as serious science (not what Kennedy junior thinks it might be) is getting kicked out and eliminated. And those well educated people will find new jobs outside of USA. And most of them will never come back again. Lost forever.

If USA would be smart enough to produce products what other nations worldwide demand it would have a chance to sell more products on the international market.

But instead Mr. Trump thinks that the whole world shall show respect for.... emmm... what exactly?!

You are really delusional.

Laughable.

Switzerland, just another economic dwarf that has been suckling at the American teat greedily:

In some cantons in western Switzerland, up to almost 30% of all employees work in the tech and watch industry. In turn, certain cantons have a particularly high proportion of exports to the US.

. It is estimated that Swiss companies will lose $9.5 billion (CHF7.6 billion) in turnover and $4 billion in profits. This is mainly in industries with high-value products, which would have to assume that their exports to the US would fall by a quarter. An initial assessment by the KOF Swiss Economic Institute at federal technology institute ETH Zurich predicted a decline in GDP of up to 0.6% per year – even more if pharmaceuticals were also subject to tariffs.
