A school minibus carrying students to a boxing competition overturned on the Nakhon Phanom–That Phanom road on 9 September, leaving 11 people injured. The crash occurred near the Phra Klang Thung Subdistrict Administrative Organisation office in That Phanom District at approximately 08:00. Emergency services rushed to the scene to provide assistance and no fatalities were reported.

The minibus was transporting students from Roi Et province to participate in a sporting event when the driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel. The driver lost control, hit a lamp post and flipped on to its side, resulting in injuries to the passengers on board. Authorities confirmed that the incident occurred while the students were en route to the boxing competition.

Officials from relevant agencies responded promptly to assess the situation, provide first aid, and transfer the injured students to nearby hospitals. The driver’s alleged lapse has prompted authorities to emphasise road safety, particularly for vehicles transporting children over long distances. Local emergency management teams continue to monitor the condition of the injured.
