Police in Sa Kaeo have arrested a 30-year-old woman suspected of being a major drug dealer in eastern Thailand and seized a large quantity of narcotics, a firearm and a grenade. The operation, carried out on 10 September, also led to the arrest of three additional suspects following an investigation. Officers confirmed that the crackdown was part of ongoing efforts to dismantle organised crime networks in the region.

The initial arrest took place at a house in Village 5, Wang Nam Yen subdistrict, Wang Nam Yen district, Sa Kaeo. The suspect, identified only as Ms A, was found with 1,000 methamphetamine pills and 5.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine. The arrest was led by Pol Col Jaturapat Singhasit, deputy commander of Sa Kaeo Provincial Police, together with Pol Col Damrong Iamphairoj, chief of the Provincial Investigation Division and their investigative team.

Following questioning, police expanded their investigation and apprehended three more suspects linked to the same network. Officers confiscated a further 10,000 methamphetamine pills, 430 grams of crystal meth, one M26A1 fragmentation grenade and a Remington 1100 shotgun with three cartridges. The weapons and explosives were secured as evidence due to their high risk to public safety.

Authorities stated that the arrests highlight the dangerous overlap between drug trafficking and access to illegal weapons in the eastern provinces. The presence of a military-grade grenade underscores the potential for violence and the seriousness of the criminal operation. Police reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing all connections to the network and warned that further arrests may follow.

Investigators are continuing to gather intelligence to identify other individuals involved in the supply chain. Sa Kaeo Provincial Police urged the public to report any information on drug trafficking, firearms, or explosives, stressing that all tips would be treated as confidential. The suspects are being processed under the law, and the case remains active.
