Police in Bang Pu, Samut Prakan, discovered the body of a newborn male infant on 14 September 2025 at around 21:00. The baby, fully developed and with the umbilical cord still attached, was found wrapped in four layers of black plastic bags in trees, along a canal in Soi Sadet Mae Bang Phai, Sukhumvit Road. Authorities secured the scene, collected evidence and began a forensic examination.

The body was discovered approximately 50 metres from the main road, in an area enclosed with corrugated metal fencing, making access difficult for the public. Local resident Mr. Wirai, 45, who found the infant while inspecting nearby gardens and woodland, reported seeing a suspicious black bag and immediately contacted the police. It is suspected that the baby may have been thrown from a nearby bridge, landing in the spot where it was found.

Police cordoned off the area and documented the scene before taking the infant for autopsy. Officers are reviewing security camera footage from surrounding routes to trace the person who disposed of the body. Authorities have emphasised the need to locate the mother for questioning and potential legal action.

Investigators will continue tracking leads from CCTV and witness accounts to identify the individual responsible. The case may result in criminal charges once the parent or guardian is located. Authorities are also advising the public to report if they had seen any suspicious activity in the area.
