A security guard in Pampanga is being investigated after a video surfaced online, allegedly showing him firing a gun. Reynold Tingal, stationed in Mabalacat City, reportedly shot the firearm while demonstrating gun handling on his social media page, Tings TV. The Police Regional Office 3 Civil Security Unit (PRO CSU 3) has launched an inquiry into the incident, seeking explanations from both Tingal and his employing security agency.

In response to the video, Capt. Raymond Vergara from PRO CSU 3 said that a verbal request for Tingal's explanation was made, although a formal notice has yet to be sent. Tingal later released a video apology to his audience, the security agency, and the Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (SOSIA), stating the original footage had been edited. The post containing the accidental discharge has since been removed from his page.

Following the video's spread, police visited Tingal on September 3. Capt. Vergara mentioned that Tingal claimed the video was intended for entertainment purposes. It was also confirmed that Tingal holds a valid license to work as a security guard, which is effective until August 2029. The incident has led SOSIA to caution private security personnel to adhere to gun safety protocols and avoid posting inappropriate content online while in uniform.

The investigation continues, with authorities considering possible charges against Tingal. A memorandum issued by SOSIA on September 10 emphasizes the importance of maintaining professionalism in online postings. Capt. Vergara stressed the importance of upholding the reputation of uniformed guards, especially when handling firearms.

Looking forward, the case could lead to more stringent regulations for security personnel regarding social media usage. The security industry may need to reinforce training on both gun safety and the responsible sharing of content online. As investigators continue their work, Tingal's actions have highlighted the delicate balance between social media engagement and professional responsibility.
