Walking up that hill today past that Hotel California in Jomtien ,just past those basketball courts

I saw disgraceful graffiti, now I do know it's usually young men expressing themselves

But one graffiti image says NYC 2025

I should of taken pics ,but this tells me it's not young thai  guys  writing scribbling all this horrendous spray paint ,it must be young farangs !!

Anyone on their way to Jomtien past that Pattaya roundabout (where the bridge is )  will see all his disgrace over the roller shutters scribble in black paint it goes for miles full of graffiti on the left side

Can anyone tell me the right name of this area

,i intend to go to Pattaya City Council tommrrw morning to make a formal complaint about these eyesore areas

I should of took pics I guess

I also noticed it all under that bridge area where the basketball courts are

Enough is enough

Pics taken while the vandals were drawing the pic would have proven more interesting.

Yes definitely

I'm thinking all this "expression" must of been done over some time not just on a night

And please ..it is a "expression" from our youth who maybe going through a trauma and they need to express themselves by writing on the walls and roller shutters

There is meaning to this graffiti

But it's best to be nipped in the bud so to speak so I will probably go to Pattaya City Council at 9am to notify them

The Diary of Adrian Mole aged 7 and 3/4's.

We are fortunate that Pattaya and Thailand so far do not have much graffiti--which I absolutely hate.  Parts of Europe have been pretty much ruined by it--at least the places I have visited.   How graffiti is handled by a country or a city I see as a mark on a report card of the way a country or a city is doing in maintaining its standards and a good quality of life.   France and italy--F-.  Japan--A+.  I give Japan an 'A+' because in several trips there I have never seen graffiti.  I am sure there must, of course, be some graffiti in Japan but I haven't noticed any--and never in a way that ruins a visit, as it does in some places in Europe.

Poor Paris--graffiti literally everywhere, even in the really nice areas.   Graffiti on top of other graffiti.  Covered with it at street level but I'd be walking around and look up to admire a beautiful, old building and there would be more graffiti on a lovely chimney.  Somebody climbed up to the top of the building just to spray paint an ugly, meaningless squiggle.

Some of the old, spineless, tired countries and cities of Europe just sat back and lazily let it happen and now it's probably way too late to ever recover.   Pattaya and Thailand need to keep on top of it by cleaning it whenever it happens.  That's the key--keeping on top of it because graffiti breeds more graffiti.   When a culprit is found there should be strict punishment.  Good luck with your visit to City Hall.

A few years ago, a group of young Englishmen began painting graffiti on the Chiang Mai wall. They were arrested, forced to pay for the restoration of the damage, and deported.

Good!  Zero tolerance.

I recall a fuss about a USA National painting a temple wall.

You must be joking!! Have a look in Bangkok! Absolutely rife with graffiti. All over shutters and walls. Noticed it all on Sunday whilst in a  taxi from Bang Khae to Bangkok Hospital.

Hua Hin, where I live, also has its fair share as well with “The Eye” everywhere, thanks to Jo, amongst other graffiti.

Thai's are influenced by foreign cultures.  NYC is still considered a cool place to be in America.

One country I lived in wanted to require the store to record the name and identifying information of buyers of spray paint.  I think you know that failed.

I know some marks territory, expresses something the "artists" values or is just someone copying a friend who does it.

Problem is what can the Police do about it?  They usually are spraying between 1 am to 5 am while the world sleeps, and Police force is at minimally staffed.  Who's going to report this when few people are around?

Very Sad.  Maybe teach it in school.  Then teach them they now have to remove it.
