A proposal by Deo Ca Group aims to establish an urban railway connecting Da Nang and Hoi An by 2030 through a public-private partnership. This project promises to boost the region’s transportation infrastructure, enhancing travel efficiency and accessibility. Vice Chairman Le Quynh Mai announced that construction is contingent on receiving official approvals during discussions with the Da Nang People's Committee.

Deo Ca Group's proposal features a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) strategy and involves collaborations with influential investors like Kita Group, Futa Group, China Design Group, CRRC Chongqing, Arup, A2Z, and Kim Long Motors. The plan further outlines potential expansions of the railway network to connect Tam Ky and Chu Lai, augmenting regional traffic systems post-2030.

Vice Chairman of the Da Nang municipal People's Committee, Le Quang Nam, indicated a meticulous review process for the proposal, ensuring that only qualified tenders are selected. Previously, discussions with Thaco Group explored establishing urban railway routes linking Da Nang, Tam Ky, and Chu Lai, signaling keen interest in regional transit development.

The city of Da Nang is actively pursuing investments for 11 Light Rail Transit (LRT) lines and several tourism-focused routes, alongside two Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) systems, to accommodate expected traffic and tourism increases. The planned rail system promises to significantly cut travel times, linking Da Nang to Hoi An (30 km) in 20 minutes and to Chu Lai (90 km) in 40 minutes.

Looking forward, stakeholders are focused on finalizing approvals and engaging in a competitive tendering process to commence construction, with significant improvements to regional mobility anticipated.

That's a great idea. Currently, traveling by road takes an unnecessarily long amount of time.
