Why do all the people that insist they do not support Hamas, and that agree Hamas is a terrorist organization, not want Hamas eradicated?

Can we all at least agree that the Palestinians that do not want to kill Jews and eradicate Israel be much better off without Hamas?

No excuse for not learning Thai after 2 years here. Pure laziness and disrespect.

No... there's no excuse for sweeping judgmental generalisations...

My Thai is OK - I've been fortunate enough to be able to pick it up - meanwhile I've seen people who are extremely smart, yet struggle to pick up the nuances of the language, particularly tones.

Some people are totally rubbish at Art, Humanities, Sciences or Maths - we each have our strengths and weaknesses - others clearly have the weakness to understand that everyone is different... so no, learning languages is not pureply about IQ, Laziness or disrespect - but using such as an accusation at others displays low IQ, Laziness and disrespect....

There are plenty of people on here who have tried and tried and tried, and simply struggled - thus: At least giving the language a 'go' and having a try IMO is as important as being polite in the first place as a lot of communication is non-verbal in the first place.

It isn't a prerequisite to speak Thai. It just makes it a little easier to communicate if you're around the locals. Even more so if you don't intend to stay here long term. Anyone can use a translator on their phones if you don't have a command of the language. Granted the Thai language doesn't always translate that well, but they get the gist of what you're saying. What they do is appreciate if you're trying. Knowing the basics, numbers, nice gestures, how to order food, taxis, and directions is about all you need. Like Richard mentioned, the tones aren't easy to get past. You can say a sentence but if it isn't practiced with a local you know, it won't be understood by the Thais. Nothing to do with laziness or intelligence.
