yeah.  Times do change.  The idea of anchor babies was not a big issue a century or more ago because traveling to the USA from abroad was not a trivial process.  Now, it is relatively easy to get into the USA one way or another, and with the clear intent to have a baby there.  So I am open to  the issue being looked at in a new light.  A quick search on the internet said there were 400,000 so called anchor babies born in the USA annually

Supremes will consider the intent of those who wrote and passed the original amendment.

All persons born or naturalized in the United
States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are
citizens of the United States and of the State wherein
they reside.

 

Here's the text. So most of the argument will be what "subject to the jurisdiction " constitutes.

The question presented is whether the Executive Order complies on its face with the Citizenship Clause and with 8 U.S.C. 1401(a), which codifies that Clause.

Neither are Armalite rifles what the right to bear arms was about. But I don't hear anyone whinging about that despite a long trail of schoolchild corpses.

Difficult topic since my grandparents from Sweden  were illegal when my dad was born in the USA.  

Anybody with intelligence will understand that there is a higher power at play here and there is a bigger agenda at  play here. Do not be confused by the shiny objects being tossed in front of you to keep your attention. Look behind the scenes to see what policies and what parts of the constitution are being tested to disappear. This isn’t the Cheeto. He’s just a puppet and he’s the  perfect puppet because he’s too stupid and too egocentric to realize he’s being used as the puppet. 

 and the best way to do that is to divide the people and cause them to quarrel amongst themselves so they don’t see what’s going on behind them.  ( this is a classic technique for doing a takeover whether it’s business or country)

This is not about red and blue. This is not about democrat versus Republican. 

This is about causing conflict within the people using gender, gay, abortion, and prejudice as the hot topic buttons to keep people occupied while things happen in the background. You’re going to have an option soon if you don’t have it already.

 Stand up and bring our country back to what it used to be.  Or allow it to become what they have planned for it. Americans it’s your choice.  

I honestly think personally that people don’t have the balls anymore. They’re too busy being digital creators sitting on their cell phones and being self indulgent. Don’t worry about anything that’s not right in front of them. 

 

And always remember the following.

And economy, run by banks will never allow with people to have any money 

A medical system run by doctors will never be healthy 

Research companies founded by pharmaceuticals will never find cures.

Personally, I don't think ANYONE should automatically be given citizenship.

I think we should have to work for it; working either in civil service to the United States or Military service. But there should be some requirement other than just that happenstance of being born. A year or two spent working, supporting, or protecting the country that protects and supports us isn't too much to ask. I've believed that since I was a teenager, which is one of the reasons I enlisted in the Military. Many countries have a 1-2 year service requirement for EVERY person who reaches the right age.

 

A lot of us gave all we had in service to our country. Many of us still wear the scars from Military service. Hundreds of thousands of Civil Servants dedicated their lives to working for the United States of America.

Those of us who work for our country certainly have the right to be called not just citizens, but patriots.

To me, just being born somewhere is an act of nature, and should not be a guarantee of citizenship.

There are many ways to stop birth-tourism.

Obligation of legal residency until the baby’s majority when he can choose his or her citizenship. Until then the child has the citizenship of his or her parents.

Attached the legal residency to the fiscal residency obliging the parents to file their worldwide income tax returns and pay taxes due to the state of citizenship. It would stop fiscal evasion due to multiple citizenships.

Obligation to serve in the armed forces when reaching the appropriate age (both genders) either in peace times as well as war times. Serving in another country armed forces would automatically void your citizenship unless there is an agreement between both countries.

Obligation to speak, read and write the language of your country of citizenship and have a basic knowledge of its history and laws.

Make revocation of citizenship easier for the government due to fraud, false representation, criminal activities, terrorism, treason or espionage. The legal tools are available but rarely used.

We have to go back to jus sanguinis instead of jus soli.

(b) The heads of all executive departments and agencies
shall issue public guidance within 30 days of the date of this
order regarding this order's implementation with respect to
their operations and activities. 

 

So they will have 30 days to figure it out but -- as per the Justice Kavanaugh queries to SG Sauer above -- they haven't figured it out yet

I THINK women who are in late term pregnancy are denied visas.  Could be wrong.
