A foreign man was found unconscious and later declared dead after being washed ashore at Nai Yang Beach, Phuket. Local police are actively trying to determine his identity and the circumstances leading to his death. The incident adds to a series of tourist drownings in the area.

The middle-aged, white foreigner was discovered by locals at around 11.15 am on September 30. Rescue teams transported him to Thalang Hospital, but despite attempts at resuscitation, he was pronounced dead at 12.25 pm. The man had no identification or personal items, and there were no visible injuries, leading police to rule out foul play initially.

Authorities are struggling to trace the man's identity as no witnesses have come forward, and his residency remains unknown. The body has been moved to Vachira Phuket Hospital for a thorough autopsy to ascertain the cause of death. Phuket police are collaborating with local hospitals and plan to contact the man's embassy after confirming his nationality.

The area has seen a rise in tourist drownings, with similar cases occurring at Nai Yang, Patong, and Karon beaches. Many victims were reportedly swimming in rough seas or without lifeguard oversight. Police Colonel Nikorn Chuthong urges the public to provide any information that might assist in identifying the deceased.

Future efforts will focus on enhancing beach safety measures and awareness to prevent further incidents. Investigations will continue, with police aiming to contact the foreigner's country for assistance in resolving his identity and notifying any relatives.
