A shocking discovery was made in Nakhon Pathom, on 2 October, when a cattle herder found the body of a man in a forested area of Moo 9, Tambon Mab Khae, Mueang district. The victim, later identified as 55-year-old pork vendor Mr Supakrit, was found with his left foot chained to a tree, secured with a padlock. Nearby were personal items including bottles of soft drinks, herbicide sachets and a bicycle.

Police were alerted at 14:35 and arrived at the scene with the Forensic Unit 7, medical examiners from Nakhon Pathom Hospital, and the Suksala Nakhon Pathom Foundation. The site, about 20–30 metres from a road, was surrounded by tall grass and the body was lying supine on a fertiliser sack. Investigators estimated the man had been dead for two to three days.

The deceased wore a short-sleeved camouflage shirt and black shorts. Pink flip-flops were found nearby and a blue apron was hanging on the tree where the chain was fixed. Officers also recovered three sachets of herbicide, one red soft drink bottle, one bottle of plain water and one purple soft drink bottle. The victim’s bicycle was also found fallen nearby.

Police reviewed CCTV footage tracing the man’s last known movements, showing him buying drinks at around 16:17 the previous day. His wife had filed a missing person report with Nakhon Pathom police before the body was identified. Witness Mr Thammathat Chaisamruam, 30, said he discovered the body while bringing cattle to graze in the privately owned area. He immediately notified police.

Forensic officers carried out an initial examination at the scene before sending the body for a full autopsy at Nakhon Pathom Hospital. The investigation continues to determine the cause of death.
