Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt has provided an update, on the collapse of Samsen Road, following heavy rainfall in the capital. He live-streamed the situation on his personal Facebook page on 3 October while inspecting the area in front of Vajira Hospital in Dusit district. Officials reported light waterlogging in the subsided section of around 23 millimetres after rain fell at 05:00.

Governor Chadchart said sand had been added to stabilise the site and temporary supports installed at the nearby Samsen Police Station. He explained that further ground subsidence might occur due to continuing rain and stressed that specialists and officials would need to assess how to proceed. He noted that the overall work was progressing according to plan, with city teams prepared to pump out rainwater if needed in line with instructions from the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA).

Dr. Ampan Wimonwatana, Deputy Dean of Vajira Hospital at Navamindradhiraj University, added that patient numbers had been high in recent days. Between 1 and 2 October, more than 5,000 patients attended the hospital each day, as appointments and delayed visits coincided with the one-week mark since the road collapse. To assist with access, the hospital has been offering shuttle services at Si Yan, Sirindhorn and outside Saint Gabriel’s School, while security staff have been arranging taxis for patients.

On 2 October, progress was made with an additional 1,300 cubic metres of sand filled, bringing the total to about 3,500 cubic metres. Concrete slabs at the site were broken down, and sand was pushed under the Samsen Police Station building to reinforce its foundation. Temporary short piles were also installed to stabilise the structure, while the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation monitored the building using cameras, finding no significant movement so far.

Authorities expect the sand filling to be completed by 4–5 October, after which the sand will be compacted and the road surface restored. Samsen Road in front of Vajira Hospital is planned to reopen on 9 October once resurfacing is finished. Officials continue to monitor weather conditions and ground stability to ensure safety during the repair process.

this is rubbish !! to stabilize  the whole of the sink hole compaction need to be done in layers Soil compaction is the practice of applying mechanical compactive effort to densify a soil by reducing the void space between soil particles. Compaction occurs when particles are pressed together to reduce the space between them. Highly compacted soils contain very few spaces resulting in soil with higher unit weight.
