Two thieves stole a safe containing assets worth more than 10 million baht from the Trang home of Adisorn Tanhenchuan, President of the Federation of Southern Industries. The suspects stopped to drink wine during the burglary before fleeing, leaving behind DNA and fingerprint evidence that police are now analysing. One man has been arrested, while a 100,000 baht reward is offered for information leading to the capture of the second.

The theft took place on October 1, at Adisorn’s three-storey property in Na Mueang Phet sub-district, Sikao district, Trang province. At the time, Adisorn was in Bangkok on duty, leaving only his 89-year-old mother and a maid at the house, neither of whom was harmed. Officers from Sikao Police Station confirmed the suspects scaled the front wall, forced open a window and back door and carried away the safe.

The stolen safe contained 2.8 million baht in cash, a highly valuable amulet worth more than 1 million baht, additional amulets, gold necklaces, diamond rings, luxury watches and other items, collectively valued at over 10 million baht. The crime was recorded by more than 10 CCTV cameras installed at the property. Investigators also collected bloodstains found inside the house and near the swimming pool, along with DNA samples and fingerprints from a half-consumed wine bottle left in the garden.

CCTV footage clearly showed two men: one covering his head and face with a t-shirt and the other, tall and thin, shirtless and using his shirt to conceal his face. Police later identified the suspects as 41-year-old Sarawut and 31-year-old Nutchapong, both residents of Krabi province. Officers tracked their escape route and arrested Nutchapong, at a rented room in Khlong Tom district, Krabi.

During questioning, Nutchapong confessed to receiving 1 million baht as his share of the stolen assets. He admitted to spending 55,000 baht on a new motorcycle and 4,000 baht on a new mobile phone. He also admitted to involvement in one or two previous burglaries but denied knowing the identity of the homeowner at the time of the theft.

Adisorn expressed appreciation for the swift arrest of one suspect and announced a 100,000 baht reward for information leading to Sarawut’s capture. Police continue their search for the second man, with DNA and forensic evidence now under analysis to strengthen the case.
