You just can't trust those Italians...

And you can't even joke about the Jews nowadays.

You don't think gun control would help.

I think it's the only thing worth trying now.

Right.

It can't hurt to try.

All those thoughts and prayers haven't done much.

It worked in Japan.

Amendments to Japan’s Gun Control Law After 1958

📅 1993 & 1995 –

New crimes added: Possession, trafficking, and concealment offenses.

Harsher penalties: Longer prison terms and higher fines.

Mitigation clauses: Lighter sentences for voluntary surrender of illegal weapons.

Expanded investigative powers: Broader authority for police to search and seize.

📅 2008 – Strengthening Oversight

Focused on tightening licensing procedures and enhancing background checks.

Introduced stricter renewal protocols and more frequent inspections.

Emphasized mental health monitoring and storage compliance.

This is the difference JP & USA ...

I was arrested, a felony, for carrying a concealed firearm in FL, overnight in holdup, released, and sentenced to 1 yr probation, record expunged, and, I got my gun back, minus the bullets :cheesy:

Probation involved me mailing a letter monthly stating I haven't been arrested during that month, as I wasn't a FL resident.   If a FL resident, I'd have to pop into an office, and state the same in person.   That is all.  I actually offered to fly down every month to do in person, while negotiating with the DA, to have the record expunged, as I really couldn't have a felony conviction on my record, for a couple reasons.  Judge didn't like it, but DA agreed to it, kind of realizing the arrest was BS to begin with, and didn't want to try to fight to win a conviction in a jury trial.

That actually ran concurrent with the misdemeanor I was arrested for, which was BS, but they had to charge me with something, as they illegally searched me, and found the firearm.  So without that charge, they had no probably cause.   It was funny, as the judge read the sentence for the misdemeanor first, so in reality, nothing was added for the firearm, as both sentences ran concurrent.   If I didn't have the firearm, I still would have gotten 1 yr probation.   No, I didn't need a lawyer, or use any of my PA connections to have the charges dropped.

It was a legal firearm, I did have a permit for PA, but not recognized in FL, and was also holder of FFLs, Fed licenses to sell & collect firearms.

Just not worth the risk.

  ◦  First-time offender with no intent to use: closer to 1–3 years.

  ◦  Repeat offender or gang affiliation: 5–10 years.

  ◦  Possession with intent to harm or use: escalates beyond 10 years under related criminal statutes.

I dont care what folks call me. The high rate of gun crime in the USA is directly the result of conditions in the black urban hoods. By the way, Most of the gun control laws requiring permits to carry or posses were based on racist efforts to keep guns from black Americans. Guess the Southern KKK Democrats were right, huh? Now in NY,  the Democrat machine lead by a schizo crook rammed through a gun control law to keep guns from the hands of Jews and Italians.

So many Americans are retarded on this issue it's galling. The frickin' may of NYC got raked over the coals for saying how it actually is but what should he do? They clearly know who's committing crimes but their hands are tied for various reasons.

Once you figure this out you think ok then I'll just not live around blacks but if you say this out loud now you're a racist.  Remember when Scott Adams did this and got canceled? It's pure clown world happening in America right now.

It won't make a lick of difference.  I've seen estimates that there are over 300 million guns in America.  How do you get them back?  I assure you even if they can pass a constitutional amendment to make that legal there will be little cooperation in it.  And even if MOST Americans would turn them in the ones who won't are exactly the ones committing most of the shootings now.

As to comments "assault weapons ban" total nonsense.  Most of these criminals carry a handgun not any sort of rifle.  And many of them install a "switch" that is easily manufactured via 3D printing.  That switch converts a semiautomatic Glock into a full-auto spray gun.  And they have no clue where those bullets are going they close their eyes and spray in the general direction of their perceived enemy.

On second thought there are laws that might help.  Toughen the laws for a felon caught with a gun and no plea bargains.  Allow police to stop and search suspicious characters (stop calling racism or harassment) and arrest those caught.  Make the sentences harsher and no early release.  No bail.  And sadly since criminal gangs figured out using underage members to commit crimes since the system goes easy on them lower the age of trial as an adult.

I dunno.  Maybe good old fashioned police work and harsh judicial punishment for those committing a violent felony with a gun.

As to this particular shooting I guarantee many of the victims and witnesses KNOW who was doing the shooting but..... well no one will talk.  It's why shooters are rarely caught in these events.

It is a difficult problem, but the numbers are not simple.

Confiscation would not be entirely a one gun at a time proposition.

Many gun owners own multiple guns, easily concluded from th number of guns in private hands and the number of homes with guns which is reported to be 40% (from ammo.com).

https://ammo.com/articles/how-many-gun-owners-in-america#:~:text=40%%2C or approximately more than, one (107 million people).

So confiscation, though difficult, would be less difficult than at first glance.

And despite what some moronic foreigners who think some new gun law would fix this problem no new law will change that culture.  Nor will it disarm them.  What will?  I have no idea.

An additude like yours certainly does not help either, something needs to be done and i think adding even more guns is not the right answer.

Maybe some moronic Americans with no clue about the rest of the world will come up with a better idea?

Was there a need to repeat what I posted ...

... point is, I got nothing added, for the weapon's charge, record expunged, so if arrested again, in FL or anywhere, that first arrest wouldn't haunt me.   AND ... I can buy a firearm, as no record of a felony conviction, which most states don't allow convicted felons to buy firearms.

Unless folks start shooting back, which a good many of us would do. Guns are the tripwire, the line in the sand.

How would you know? You arent an American, never lived there, wasnt educated there and you get your news from a Socialist bubble with a pre existing prejudice against the USA.

YOu are entitled to comment, but your comments have no factual basis.

But that isn't really the problem is it.........it is the issuing of permits with little or no control compounded by the types of weapons you can purchase........then you can start to strictly adhere to the laws that severely punish offenders.

Here's an exercise for you. Find a city in Europe with strong gun regulations and a high African or Arab population. I promise you the murder rate by non-firearms will vastly exceed an all white rural town in America where every single family owns guns.

This is 100% about demographics and disarming law abiding citizens will get nothing.

So the amount of melanin in your skin predisposes you to the use of firearms?

You arent an American [who] werent educated there

Check your use of singular and plural, and if you want to deflect from your ignorance, try not to be more ignorant while doing so.

Yes. Depending on your cultural influences. Add the term illegal

Of course there is no way it could linked to the oppression of a minority easily identified by the colour of their skin.....disenfranchised and ostracised from the main stream opportunities afforded to their pure white massas.

Just a reminder to AI.  Alabama is a state, not a town or city.  There is no 'downtown Alabama'.   Deadly shooting rocks downtown Montgomery.

Oh? You mean blacks are weaker and stupider than the other immigrant groups in the USA that were discriminated against? Typical racist.
