Everest Blizzard- 1000 people trapped

A sudden snowstorm has trapped nearly 1,000 trekkers and climbers along the eastern slope of Mount Everest in Tibet.

Heavy snow and blocked access routes have complicated rescue efforts, but teams—alongside local villagers—are actively moving to reach stranded parties. Thus far, around 350 people have made it down to Qudang, and contact has been established with many of the remaining groups.

The trapped groups were exploring the Karma Valley, a path toward Everest’s remote Kangshung face, when the snow began on Friday evening and continued into Saturday. Authorities have suspended entry and ticket sales to the Everest Scenic Area as the storm intensified.

Hypothermia, tent collapses, and logistical obstacles have all added urgency to the mission. One trekker, Chen Geshuang, described the conditions as “wet and cold,” and warned that guides had never seen such weather in October.

Meanwhile, in Nepal, torrential rains have triggered flash floods and landslides, killing at least 47 people and cutting off roads, bridges and access routes.

Yeah...  No thanks.

BB King did a song about that:  The Thrill is Gone.

I wonder how much of the $40K-100K USD it costs to climb Everest they'll get refunded?  The ones that survive, I mean.
