Police in Chiang Mai have arrested a man wanted for kidnapping and ransom, listed with an 80,000 baht bounty on him. The arrest of 31-year-old Kittiphat, alias “Games”, took place on 10 October 2025 at his girlfriend’s home on the outskirts of the city. Authorities say the suspect had been evading capture since charges were filed in August last year.

The suspect is wanted under a court warrant issued by Satun Provincial Court on 15 August 2024. He is charged with “jointly obtaining ransom, abducting a person over the age of fifteen by deception, threats, violence or coercion, or unlawfully detaining that person.” He was also listed at number 189 in the National Police Bureau’s 2025 most-wanted list, with a bounty of 80,000 baht. Investigators traced him to the residence in Moo 6, Yang Noeng Subdistrict, Saraphi District, Chiang Mai, where he had been hiding.

On 10 October 2025, Pol Col Sompong Suwanwong, Deputy Commissioner of the Investigation Division of Region 9 Police, led a joint operation involving the Region 9 investigation police and special operations units. Officers obtained a search warrant from Chiang Mai Provincial Court and surrounded the residence. Upon request, the suspect and his girlfriend opened the door, and officers presented the warrant and arrest order. Kittiphat acknowledged his identity and the charges against him.

He was taken to Saraphi Police Station to complete arrest records before being transferred from Chiang Mai to La-ngu Police Station in Satun Province for formal prosecution. Police confirmed that the suspect had been living at his girlfriend’s property to avoid detection. The arrest ends a long investigation into a serious crime involving abduction and ransom, which had placed him high on the police’s wanted list.
