  • The three best cuisines in the world are Japanese, Thai and Italian. Italian is lots of carbs. I love Japanese, but given the variety Thai food wins... only just though.

blood tofu is manna

It does have health benefits but if it's processed in unsanitary conditions, like many places here, it's not a good idea. many here have gastro problems and it's because of this and other foods that aren't processed or gathered in clean conditions, and left out for bacteria to grow. I just don't like the idea of it, although we eat blood with meats anyway.

I restrict my intake to that which comes out of a restaurant. I do find that over the past 40 years, the food in ASEAN has gottn more hygenic, altho I still wont eat hoi kaeng

I would never get used to meat being left out all day, and I know many do have stomach problems from that alone. Thais eat most anything, and as far as that raw fish in Somtan, thousands die every year from it. There isn't the quality control the west has as far as inspections, and you really have to make sure whoever cooks your food does it right.

yes, my favorite is grilled pork with nam tjim tjao sauce and sticky rice,

followed by moo grop with toa fuk jao,

followed by kao pat moo,

followed by any other pork,

like ba mi keao soup at 4 chai franchise

That's funny. A total contradiction to your original comment. 🤣🤣

If you think this is a contradiction to my original comment, you obviously have comprehension problems, it's the points I made in my original comment that drive the logic behind my post that you for some strange reason interpret as contradictory. Maybe you can enlighten us and explain your reasoning behind this?

If you think it's not a contradiction, you need to re read.

It's quite obvious how you've made mistakes in your posts. There's really no need for me to point it out, there shouldn't be, anyway.

I believe Thai food is not as good as non Thais believe it is. I'm a pretty good judge as my wife had many restaurants in Bangkok and Pattaya. She is in excellent cook of Thai food, Isarn food and farang food. The thing that tourist don't realise why their Thai food tastes so good is the fact that Thais are extra good at making dips. Every Thai food has it's own dip. Her indoors verified this to me.

That's because you can't, you know full well you're wrong but just haven't got the gonads to admit it. So I'll spell it out for you, Thai food is in general scraps of cheap protein swimming in an unnutritious, sugar laden, salt laden, palm oil laden, MSG Laden broth, usually accompanied by the most bland, tasteless carbohydrate in the world...steamed white rice.  That's why I cook at home and occasional treat me and the missus to a top end restaurant meal. Capisce!!

Correct.  Thai food is certainly tasty but certainly not healthy!

I'll spell it out. You obviously don't eat in the same places I do. In my 20+ years in Thailand I've eaten many fantastic meals.

You're contradiction is there, once again.

"Every Thai food". No. That's incorrect. Every Thai dish does not have it's own dip.

Bully for you, obviously easily pleased or is it the cheap Charlie factor? Because if you have had fantastic Thai food it certainly wasn't at general Thai eateries or street food, it was a high end restaurant which is not representative of what this OP is about.

I believe the OP asked "Do you like Thai food?". He mentioned nothing about costs or type of establishment. You are mistaken in your assumptions. All of them.

Have you actually been to Thailand ?

I could take you to a corner restaurant in Chiang Mai that serves up the most delicious khao soi; a back street ran ahan that dishes up the best pad krappow moo I have had in Thailand; a Chai Si stall in a PTT gas station that has the most delicious kwitiow and a shop in Hua Hin soi 57 that has a Pad Thai to die for.

You are the one that said it. I was just pointing out how nice it was for you to finally agree. Well done.

If you want to discuss any topic, go ahead. Post a topic. Post a link so I can find it.

Thanks.
