A Myanmar construction worker was seriously injured after being stabbed by a fellow countryman during a drinking session at a workers’ camp in Bang Phli District on the evening of 10 October 2025. Police said the altercation began when the pair, both intoxicated, argued after one made an offensive remark.

Officers from Bang Phli Police Station were alerted to the stabbing incident inside a construction workers’ camp on Soi Bang Pla 19, Moo 10, Bang Pla Subdistrict. They arrived at the scene with Ruamkatanyu Foundation rescue volunteers and found the injured man, identified as Mr. Sai, 31, a Myanmar national, lying in a pool of blood.

Mr. Sai sustained a deep wound to the front of his head and another to his back, with heavy bleeding. Rescue workers provided first aid before rushing him to Bang Phli Hospital, where he was reported to be in serious condition.

According to a police interview conducted before he was transferred to hospital, the victim said he had been drinking alcohol with a colleague, identified only as Mr. K, 20, also from Myanmar. The two had been drinking heavily after finishing work when an argument broke out. Mr. K reportedly became enraged, drew a knife and struck him multiple times before fleeing the scene.

The employer of both men told police he was informed by other workers that a fight had broken out and someone had been stabbed. When he arrived, he found the injured man by the roadside awaiting help, while the suspect had already escaped. The employer added that Mr. K had recently joined the company and was known to drink frequently with other workers.

Police examined the crime scene and collected witness statements. Officers are now conducting a search to locate and arrest the suspect for attempted murder and possession of a weapon used in the attack.

Authorities have urged construction site operators to monitor alcohol consumption among workers to prevent similar violent incidents.

Very surprising news.

Sounds messy, and wouldn't have been a case of a few beers... it would have been a bottle or two of Lao-kow an M150 or some such craziness.
