Norway’s healthcare system remains one of the most equitable and efficient in the world. Unlike the US, it is built on universal access and strong public funding

So whoever it was complaining is also lying.

Hmmmm USA population 342 Million   v  Norway population 5.6 Million   whose country would you think would be better managing their healthcare??    5 1/2 Million s much easier top manage than 350 Million don’t you think??    Oh, btw, I love Oslo, especially in the summer, been there a  dozen times, and would go back if I could.

To stop the bickering on this forum, the Nobel Peace prize recipient has the last word and should embarrass Norway.

It is complicated, since they have been focused more on home care so elderly can live healthy home longer, and neglected the need for care on institutional care, where you ending up in a long decision and evaluating process. I do everything I can to speed up this process, and our case is not unique. Even a solid founded system have its weaknesses where there is to much to prioritize, and it needs to reset and learn from what mistakes have been done.

Me and my sister have cared for our mother as much we could the 3 last years, and we know her needs, and knew what would happen if she did not get enough attention. She have now fallen 15 times the last two months and bruised herself up from top to toe while in care, and also been sent to hospital twice. This Is what we are dealing with for the moment. I didn’t now this was going to be used by the hawks here, but some have no decency when it comes to their personal hate against other forum members and can feed their egos trough other’s tragedies.

Reform 2023

In 2023, the government launched the elderly reform "Live safely at home", which was presented as a report to the Storting in June. The aim of the reform is to help older people live safely in their own homes for longer by strengthening prevention, improving the planning of services and creating more age-friendly local communities. The Storting was to consider the report in the autumn of 2023, and the four main areas of focus are: vibrant local communities, housing, competent employees and safety for users and relatives. Main objectives and instruments Strengthen prevention: Facilitate good mental health through health promotion measures and preventive home visits. Better planning of services: Ensure better use of personnel and resources in order to provide good and safe services to those who need it. Age-friendly local communities: Create communities where older people can participate actively through access to culture, nature and social meeting places. Focus on housing: Establish a senior housing program to contribute to both housing adaptations in existing homes and the construction of new care homes and assisted living facilities. Strengthen home care: Help older people meet fewer and permanent employees, and improve basic staffing. Safety and support: Ensure safety for older people in their own homes and provide better support for relatives
