A former shooting athlete in Bangkok committed a murder-suicide today, October 21, killing his wife and daughter before taking his own life. Police suspect mental issues stemming from his father’s recent death as the motive. The incident occurred in a four-storey house in the Bangkok Noi district, where police discovered the bodies at 9.10 am.

Kanathorn, the suspect, was found dead alongside his 42-year-old wife, Sirirak, and their nine-year-old daughter, Kanyakorn, both shot with a 9mm handgun. A maid working at the residence noted she hadn’t observed anything unusual before leaving the house the night before. Neighbors described Kanathorn as quiet and noted frequent gunshots from the property.

Kanathorn was reportedly stressed and suffering from insomnia following his father’s death on September 26. Earlier, he attempted to report three missing guns at the Bangkok Noi Police Station but left before completing the process. Police and forensic teams are investigating to confirm the motive, and autopsies are scheduled at Siriraj Hospital.

Key Takeaways

  • A Bangkok murder-suicide involved a former athlete, his wife, and daughter.
  • Mental strain after his father’s death is suspected as the motive.
  • Police investigations continue with autopsies pending.

Just another <deleted> nuttery!

However, it´s important to note that Asian Now accepts comments on every tragedy for Thai people, but we have to lock possibilities to talk if a stupid foreigner jump from the 7th floor the his/her death. Then it´s censored. Isn´t that discrimination of the highest order?

But, sure, I know moderators will remove the above post, as they have to protect themselves.
