I agree. So what was your intention in writing...?

Could be a huge mistake, for instance. Can you clarify why it could be a huge mistake?

Then you wrote:

but we do know who do call out anyone and everyone on anonymous forums.

Do we? Please elaborate.

Useally weak personalities trying to act differently than their real self

This seems as if you are annoyed and trying to get back at someone.

You often write about spineless individuals and weak blah blah... These are not friendly terms. It's a display of annoyance.

But of course it's just me and you are full of the joys of life after reading @MalcolmB's comment...

The whole point is that people can speak freely and give their opinions freely. If you cannot hack it without throwing back unrelated insults, you need to ask yourself why.

Personally I try to counter any argument with facts and experience, rather than trying to act the big man.

🤗

Have a nice day jack

I'm a big grown up matured man with life experiences from many arenas, also arenas that requires a bit more than just typing, so get over it.

Of course you are 😊

But don't try to gaslight me. It doesn't work.

If you cannot express yourself in the way that you mean, then you should try to improve or just accept what people interpret from what you write. You had the opportunity to elaborate, but could not. So I'll stay with my initial impression of what you wrote. It's not the first time I've seen your displays of anger and annoyance , wherein afterwards you pretend that you weren't angry and annoyed.

Thirty-nine years ago Thailand was a really special place ,  innocent and really unique

in its unadulterated culture of friendliness and simplicity .

Of course,  being young and hansum and carefree added to the enjoyments of exploring such an "amazing"  place .

edit :  OMG.... i just read the last few pages of this thread and realized I went completely off topic by actually answering the question the OP presented!

sorry guys ...........

I think it's still like that if you want it to be. Things change, but things also stay the same.

You projecting again, not working especially good with me with endlessly bickering.

Seems you are quite busy with others doing exactly the same.

Have a good evening.

Funny.

When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea

A gang of us paid a visit during the World Cup tournament in 2002. Reasoning was: better weather, lower cost, almost the same time zone as the footy & Thai food! I wondered how I could swing living here and why?

Went again in 2008 or so and ended up marrying someone I met. By then the GFC was in full swing, which supported my thesis that the East was in the ascendent again and the West was going down. Being near China should help a country. Hopefully not too near. Visited almost every year until we moved here permanently in 2024.

Your contributions to this thread have been stellar. Threatening other members and unable to stand by your own statements. Bickering indeed. When you are able to stand up like a man and discuss, rather than throwing stones and running away, let me know. Everyone else has discussed and moved on. Maybe you will reach that level of maturity some day.

Hint: It's usually children who like to tell adults they are all grown up. Adults don't need to say that.

Quote

It was morning,

and the new sun sparkled gold across the ripples of a gentle sea.

A mile from shore a fishing boat chummed the water, and the word for Breakfast Flock flashed through the air, till a crowd of a thousand seagulls came to dodge and fight for bits of food. It was another busy day beginning.

But way off alone, out by himself beyond boat and shore, Jonathan Livingston Seagull was practicing. A hundred feet in the sky he lowered his webbed feet, lifted his beak, and strained to hold a painful hard twisting curve through his wings. The curve meant that he would fly slowly, and now he slowed until the wind was a whisper in his face, until the ocean stood still beneath him. He narrowed his eyes in fierce concentration, held his breath, forced one…single…more…inch…of…curve…. Then his feathers ruffled, he stalled and fell.

Oh he was an actual seagull? And he was called Jonathan Livingston Seagull?

What are the odds?

Threatening? Where in the black hole did you pull out that one from ? You are far out my friend.

And if you can not see the difference from calling out negative emotions given for no good reasons, except they dislike you, then you are far out. So many who contribute with great posts, and valid posts, that are given negative emotions, so that’s why I call them out as spineless if you didn’t know!

Calling out his joke at me as a wimp, was not a threat if you read with different glasses. At this forum you have many different nationalities, with different humor, and different ways of expressing themselves.  You wouldn’t survived onde day at a oil rig anywhere in the world, and the Norwegian sector is the nicest one and the most polite one 😉

again the message was not for you, and was not a threat. Got over it.

Quite impressive how you manage to drag forum members in to endless bickering posts.

My dear Hummin Take responsibility for yourself. "Now I dragged you into bickering"?

If you feel that you are bickering", then you are bickering. Fix that in yourself.

I pointed out that your language seemed threatening. From that we have received quite a few more interesting posts from you.

Posting on the forums is an opportunity for us to communicate with others and to improve what you can.

If I discerned your post as threatening, you might have responded in a completely different manner. But you respond in the way that you did. Don't blame others for YOUR behaviour. I asked for clarification of your meaning and you were unable to do so. Now you tell me that I would have needed to work on an oil rig to understand. Okay.

But for people who haven't worked on oil rigs, it seems threatening. Take my word for it. You can choose to bicker about it. Up to you.

Don't worry about me, I am also trying to improve. But I'm not trying to blame you for who I am.

When you find the time, could you elaborate on what you think that I am trying to do? You seem to think it's some kind of trick or subterfuge.

P.S. Do you suffer from word blindness? You seem to have quoted another member in your post. Funny though.

Probably trying to get a free Hamburger, as usual.

It's 40 years since I read it last. Once alone and shortly after I read it aloud to my GF at the time, who cried at the appropriate part.

I looked for a Thai translation to give to my child, who is still learning to read Thai, but I don't think it was ever translated. Am I wrong?

I don't clearly remember the sequel, except I didn't like it much.

Good chats anyway. It's what we are supposed to do to improve ourselves. Better to be honest and imperfect with room to improve, than to imagine that you are the finished object...lying to yourself.
