I don't receive unknown call numbers that often. Maybe one a fortnight. I don't answer these days as a few times in the past it was just a recorded message.

How about you?

Very rare for me, maybe a couple a month, if that.   If not on my contact list, I simply don't answer.  I only have about 5 contacts, so my phone doesn't ring too often :cheesy:

Not really a phone person, get 100 free mins a month, and might use 5 of those.

Even less than I thought.  Get 10 gb of internet & 100 mins of calls, and they roll over to next month for max of 20 gb & 200 mins if not used.  Current balance :cheesy:

2x a week, but I don't answer them, cos everyone I know uses LINE for phone calls.

couple a month maybe.

I don't answer... when me fone stops buzzin I block the number.

I used to get calls on my Thai number about once a month or so. This year it has dropped off to almost never.

When Skype shut down and I had to get a new US phone number, I immediately started to get several phone calls every night from people wanting to sell me some type of Medicare supplementary insurance and from what were clearly scammers.

I had never had this problem with my Skype number. After a week or so I figured out this wasn't going to stop, so I registered my number on the Federal Do Not Call Registry. The calls stopped immediately.

Yep, wife, kid, brothers, couple friends all use FB.  Only wife & kid in TH, and really don't know anyone else, that I'd call here, or back in USA.

Very seldom. My phone catches almost all of the spam.  And I don't hand my phone number out very often. And if I get a call, I block it.

Got 1497 call today, weird

That's not a standard Thai short-code.  Block it.

What I don't understand is my getting frequent calls in spite of my "Caller ID and spam protection" being on in phone settings.

Apparently it's the food and sanitation hotline, no idea why they would contact me, wrong number i guess

I get more messages than unknown callers.... When I see the header I decide whether to block or not.....

Unknown callers - maybe 2-3 a month....

I get maybe one call from an unknown number every 2 weeks.

I get 10s of SMS SPAM per week. I wonder how long or large my SMS manager's blacklist DB will grow before the device is filled or the DB hits a hard-coded limit.

Based on some of the calls I answered, and gave to my wife to deal with, I suspect my current number was recycled from someone else who didn't practice good privacy hygiene.

I have a landline which I keep unplugged unless I want to make a call. No answering machine. I've never had an unknown call.

Yesterday at 7:30 am I received 2 missed calls on my mobile. They were from the same Thai 10 digit mobile number. My phone is always on silent so I didn't know until later. I ignored it.

16:30 pm yesterday the same number tried to call me again twice. I missed both calls as before.

Foolishly out of curiosity I decided to call the number back.

A Chinese sounding man answered.

I said, "You called me many times. Why?"

He hung up immediately. No more calls today.

I'll just ignore in future and NOT call back again.
