Put damp towels along the bottom of your doors to stop smoke and don't jump as that is not an option over 2 floors. Use a wet cloth over the mouth to filter smoke.

Stand in the shower to get wet and run to the window to shout. Most firemen will know where you are then and find a way to get you out.

I saw the video of the guy that jumped but I wonder why we couldn't perch out on the ledge like this woman. That looks like a safe place to ride it out until help arrives. It almost looks like you could scale across to the other side too but it's hard to say if the ledge is deep enough.

Was a sprinkler system installed? No mention.

I’m not a fan of staying in a high rise hotel.  This could have been so much worse.

Amazing

Where I come from, and I worked in the hotel industry, there are smoke detectors everywhere  which are connected to a panel in the reception which is again connected to the fire brigade. When smoke is detected the alarm goes right away to the fire brigade. No telephone needed.
