Explosions continued for a fourth day in Myanmar’s KK Park area near Myawaddy, sending debris across the border into Thailand. The blasts, believed to be part of a deliberate demolition campaign, damaged five houses in Mae Sot district, Tak province, though no injuries or deaths were reported. Thai authorities are now preparing for a further influx of foreign nationals fleeing the escalating unrest.

The ongoing conflict stems from military operations in KK Park, home to several scam syndicates involving foreign nationals. As of 27 October 2025, a total of 1,525 people from 28 nationalities, including Thais, had crossed into Thailand via natural border routes in Tak province. The largest groups were from India (482), China (193), Vietnam (135) and Ethiopia (133).

Reports confirmed that the most recent explosion took place on 26 October, continuing a string of blasts that have rocked KK Park for days. The force of the explosions sent fragments of concrete and steel into Thai territory, landing in Ban Mae Ku Mai Tha Sung, Village 9, Mae Ku subdistrict, Mae Sot district. Five homes sustained minor damage, but there were no casualties.

Lieutenant General Worathep Boonya, Commander of the Third Army Region, said that if Myanmar authorities intensify crackdowns in Myawaddy, more foreigners are likely to cross into Thailand. He stated that military and civil agencies have prepared coordinated response plans, including discussions on budget allocation to manage temporary shelters and humanitarian support for the arrivals.

Lt Gen Worathep clarified that the blasts were not caused by drone attacks but by ground-placed explosives used to destroy buildingsapproximately 500 metres from the Thai border. Thai officials have since visited affected residents to provide reassurance and assess damage. He also noted that cross-border coordination through the Thailand–Myanmar Township Border Committee (TBC) is ongoing to address violations and maintain adherence to human rights principles.

Not a mention at all about how many Thais were there. Since this OP only talks about the foreigners.

Perhaps there were more Thais than any of them since the numbers they give only total 943 people out of the 1525 they already logged crossing into Thailand.
