Need someone to treat Dachshund

Featured Replies

Have a Dachshund with major skin problem.  Started out biting her paws until they would bleed.  Her biting transfered the foot problem to her muzzle.  She has something wrong with her anus.  constantly schooting on the floor.  Her day is spent biting her feet, scooting, and finding things to scrape her muzzle on.  Some times it gets so bad she tries to pull her nails out.  We've treated her through vets for 2 or 3 years.  She's suffering. We have to try something different. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Don't know about the foot & mouth issue but the scooting behaviour could be due to an anal gland issue or worms.

Surely a decent vet would be able to diagnose these issues? Perhaps it's time for a 2nd or 3rd opinion maybe?

Hope your dog gets some relief soon. I sympathise with your situation because I know from personal experience how distressing it can be when you see your dog suffering like this and are powerless to help.

Best of luck getting it sorted.

OP, have you succeeded in making any progress with regards to getting your dog treatment for her ailments?
