Badly behaved Israelis to feel the wrath of Thai law.

Thailand expects Israeli tourists to be better behaved in future following a meeting between Thai police and a top Israeli security official,

do they now?

Is that top security official going to reach out to each Israeli in or entering the kingdom and instruct them to behave?

  • Personally I hope it is targeted and so it should be. No need to drag all foreigners down because of the actions of a minority.

  • Yes we're all aware of your peculiar and obsessive hope to target Israelis.

Or maybe I should just go to Pai? There's bound to be seven or eight now...

No,  YOU make the effort and get an Israeli shawarma shop opened up in CM and stop calling other people fat and lazy for not doing so

i'm not even Israeli! Why is it on me to open an Israeli Shwarma stall?

There's thousands of Israelis coming to Thailand each year, and they can't open one measly Shwarma stand in CM?

I have to do everything, as usual.

  A  Joint business venture .

You and an Israeli can open up  shawarma shop

Don't criticise others for not doing things , things that you  aren't willing to do yourself .

Like I would go into business with an Israeli. I would get slaughtered.

Here is what Chat Gpt has researched and come up with on this post. People keep talking about “No Israeli” signs showing up in parts of Thailand. The truth is they do exist, but it is not some national movement or political statement. Thailand has had signs like this for different groups over the years. At one point it was Russians, then Indians, then Chinese tour groups, and even Americans in a few spots. When a certain wave of tourists clashes with Thai culture, some small businesses react with signs like that.

With Israelis, it is usually the younger crowd in their late teens and twenties who just finished military service. They travel in big groups, they bargain hard, they speak directly, and they can come off confrontational in a culture that avoids conflict. Thais are extremely sensitive to tone and body language, so even a few loud or aggressive encounters can shape a stereotype.

Most Israelis who come here are completely normal, polite and respectful. Families, retirees, and long term travelers cause no issues at all. But Thais judge patterns, not individuals, and once a stereotype takes hold it spreads fast.

ASEANNOW and social media love turning this into some political attack on Israel, but the reality on the ground is just cultural friction. It is not “most Israelis,” it is not the majority of Thailand, and it is not some grand statement. It is simply what happens when a small part of a group clashes with the local culture and the locals respond the only way they know how.

Another trope. You can't help yourself.

I'm not even sure Isrealis do shawarma shops.

There is one restaurant I've seen that appears to have an Israeli owner. It's a mish mash of I don't know what. Maybe some Isreali-inspired stuff, but seems like generic western food mostly.

Foul. There were Jews trading in Thailand since the 1500s.

We are talking about Israelis.

You keep confusing the two.

Israel is a country.

Judaism is a religion.

They were actually talking about Arabs trading with Thailand in the last 1000 year, rather than talking about Israelis

Yeah, Israelis do amazing Shwarma. Well, this one Israeli place in Holland did it once. Never saw a shop again.

Even AI agrees that there is a problem.

Will Jingthing one day?

I wouldn’t take AI as gospel as AI has had no experience with them.

I have read the thousands of posts from Thais and foreigners who have had real experiences and nearly universally have had similar experiences as me and they have been negative.

I wonder how they deal when the Israeli customers who do not want to pay or try to negotiate the price after they have eaten?

Imagine if they was an Israeli in Pai crying and saying :

"I want an Italian man to open up  pizza shop near me because I really like Italian pizza , Italians should all be sent home from Thailand if they don't open up a pizza shop near me, the fat lazy people"

I would think that bloke to be an immature fool .

"I wanna pizza boo hoo hoo"

Gotta feel for the Arabs.

We think we have problems with Israelis in Thailand but it is probably a lot worse over there.

They have no Israeli signs at the airports I hear.

I'm not saying all Israelis should be sent home. I'm perfectly happy for Israelis to mingle here as normal tourists. The only problematic thing is that they create exclusive hubs, which then attract masses of Israelis and this deeply affects the fabric of the local place where the Chabad house is built, if it is a low population place.

I don't think Israelis, or any other nationality, creating exclusive enclaves only for themselves is a desirable thing. I never liked Japanese bars that cater only to Japanese.

Problem is that Israelis get abused when they are alone , that is why they stick together .

Israelis stick together for safety reasons , otherwise they spend much of their time receiving abuse , mainly from lefty westerners

I do find it hilarious when you pretend to be stupid , but you need to be careful, because some non British people wont get the humour and they will think that you are being serious 🙂

The right wingers have traditionally not been a fan of Israelis either.

They manage to annoy both sides of the political spectrum fairly equally.

The woke and the flat out racists.

Christians, Muslims and Atheists.

They do in a way bring people together.

Doesn't matter what the reason is .

Lots of people out there like to abuse Jews /Israelis .

Thats why Israelis try to avoid the abusers

Well I think the reason does matter.

What are they doing wrong?

I know, but they also seem to like to be by themselves.Stick togther a lot.

IMO, the abusers are doing wrong .

Its unpleasant to see bullies picking on people .

I always stand with the people being picked on and face up to the bullies , they often melt

Was in Pai yesterday, stayed the night, we were out and about in quite a few bars in town during the afternoon and night, a fair few Israeli tourists, as the night went on we met a lone female Israeli tourist in a pub, she joined our group for the rest of the evening, she was a biker as well back in Haifa, she was 25yrs old.
