Bangkok police have ramped up security measures across 68 locations for this year’s Loy Krathong festival, focusing on public safety and smooth traffic flow. Police officials, led by Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, convened on 2 November 2568, to implement rigorous protocols.

 

The city hosts events, including major gatherings at Asiatique, Rama VIII Bridge, IconSiam, Wat Yannawa, Wat Arun, and Wat Bamphen Nuea/Bangpeng Tai.

 

Authorities are deploying MPB SWAT teams to curb illegal motorcycle racing and weapon possession. Authorities have tasked Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units with ensuring safety at the six major venues. Additional cooperation with the Marine Department will include inspections of piers and the provision of lifebuoys and jackets, reported Siam Rath.

 

The police intensify their efforts against crime, specifically targeting pickpocketing and illegal activities associated with alcohol sales and human trafficking. Traffic police will strictly enforce laws against street racing and manage parking to alleviate congestion. Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam emphasised caution and diligence among all units to maintain order.
