Thai authorities have extradited She Zhijiang, a Chinese national and key figure behind a major online gambling and scamming network, to China for prosecution. The transfer was conducted by the Anti-Online Crime Centre (ACSC) under the direction of the Royal Thai Police on 12 November 2025. She Zhijiang was handed over at Suvarnabhumi Police Station, awaiting Chinese authorities to complete the extradition process.

She Zhijiang was wanted by China for establishing and managing cross-border online gambling websites, money laundering and operating a criminal organisation through front companies in several countries. Chinese authorities discovered that he used Myanmar as a base for his operations, with funds amounting to over 280 million yuan and laundered 150 million yuan abroad.

He initially entered Thailand on 7 January 2020 using a Cambodia-issued Thailand Privilege Card visa, which was later revoked under Section 12(7) of Thai immigration law. On 11 May 2021, China requested INTERPOL issue a Red Notice for his arrest, leading Thai authorities to detain him. On 31 August 2022, Thai prosecutors requested an extradition warrant and She Zhijiang was subsequently held at Klong Prem Central Prison while appealing a lower court decision not to extradite him.

On 10 November 2025, the Thai Court of Appeals upheld the lower court’s ruling, authorising his extradition to China, marking the final decision under Thai extradition law. The operation was conducted by Pol Maj-Gen Jiraphop Puridet and the Hanuman Special Operations Unit of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB). The extradition follows the 1993 extradition treaty between Thailand and the People’s Republic of China.

Authorities noted that She Zhijiang’s extradition is part of ongoing efforts to tackle cross-border online gambling and financial crime. The case highlights the cooperation between Thai and Chinese law enforcement in addressing transnational crime networks. Analysts suggest that such operations may deter similar online gambling and scamming activities in the region.

Chinese authorities are expected to pursue prosecution for She Zhijiang’s involvement in illegal casinos and other criminal activities linked to his network. The extradition may lead to further investigations into his associates and the broader online gambling operations he managed across Southeast Asia.
