A 35-year-old man was shot dead on a rural road in Hat Yai district, Songkhla province, after shouting at a motorist whose car was driving dangerously. Police are now hunting the gunman following the fatal shooting that occurred on the Ku Tao–Laem Pho Road on November 13.

Police identified the victim as Mr. Issara Lertlop, aged 35, who was struck by a 9mm bullet to the left side of his ribcage. He was taken to Hat Yai Hospital but later died from his injuries after the bullet damaged his heart. Officers from Ku Tao Police Station, led by Pol. Lt. Col. Anan Sukhonthaand investigative teams from Songkhla Provincial Police recovered one 9mm cartridge case at the scene as evidence.

A surviving witness, Mr. Asan Bin Hod, aged 33, who was riding the motorcycle with the victim, told police that they were travelling together towards Ban Han subdistrict in Bang Klam district when two cars approached from the opposite direction. The vehicles allegedly entered a bend recklessly, nearly colliding with their motorcycle. In response, Issara shouted insults at the drivers as they passed.

Mr. Asan said he then turned the motorcycle around to follow the cars, which had stopped on the roadside. Issara got off the motorcycle and began walking towards the vehicles to confront the drivers. Before he could reach them, a gunshot rang out from inside one of the cars, hitting him and causing him to collapse on the road. Mr. Asan quickly fled the scene as the assailants chased him, firing two or three more shots that narrowly missed before fleeing towards Khlong Hae, the route leading to Songkhla city.

Police teams from Ku Tao station and the Songkhla Provincial Investigation Unit have launched a full investigation. They are reviewing CCTV footage along the suspected escape route to identify the vehicles and the gunman responsible. Authorities believe the shooting stemmed from a road rage confrontation that escalated fatally.

Manger online reported that investigators are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage from the Ku Tao–Laem Pho area around the time of the incident to contact local police. Officers say resources are being deployed to locate and apprehend those involved as soon as possible.

I believe that many reckless drivers are dangerous in their normal life too... If you gamble with your own life and of that of others it shows no respect, and surely not a Buddhist

It's a dilemma.

Somebody puts your life seiously at risk with idiotic driving.

Do you let them know your displeasure which may potentially escalate or

Do you get out of there avoiding escalation but essentially enabling them.
