If a stranger and foreigner asked me to show my cash I would politely say go away, or words to that effect.

the question is who WOULDN'T do that? Imagine submitting to a search of your wallet by a random person when you're on vacation. Boggles the mind.

I think you should apply this to anyone from anywhere. Why would you show your cash to someone who is asking about it. Only an idiot would do such a thing. It does not matter if foreigner or Thai.

There are some clever scams out there but this is not one of them.   I can be 100% confident I never would have or never will fall for a scam that involves me literally handing over physical items such as a wallet or cash to a complete stranger who asks for it on the street.   This warning is about as helpful as a warning advising me not to drink bleach due to adverse health effects.

Key takeaway when asked by a total stranger on the street if they can see your wallet, my answer is are you out of your mind, of course not!

See ya, but I wouldn't want to be you.

Very basic survival skills combined with common sense and most scams can be avoided.

Foreign embassies need to do their jobs and report back to their respective home countries as to issue warnings to their people on visiting Thailand and getting scammed, ripped off or even assaulted on the streets.

How many times have you got scammed, ripped off and assaulted on the streets in Thailand?

quite often in my early years...much less now on learning the hard way sometimes....

Why do you think they always ask you here "how long you stay in Thailand ?" it's perhaps a way to probe if you are here long enough and aware of the scams or cheating,  and thus no point in trying to cheat you...
