Bangkok Remand Prison (BRP) is embroiled in new allegations that female inmates were coerced into providing sexual services to male inmates and guards. This follows a recent scandal where Chinese inmates allegedly received VIP treatment. The prison firmly denies these latest accusations.

Officers from the Department of Corrections' special unit conducted a raid on BRP on November 16 after complaints surfaced about the preferential treatment. Chinese inmates were reportedly accommodated in separate, well-equipped rooms with amenities like electric appliances and smoking areas, plus access to illicit services.

Evidence found during the raid included tissue papers with semen, empty condom boxes, cigarettes, liquor, and prohibited sharp objects. The scandal has implicated several officials, including the prison director Manop Chomchuen, who allegedly accepted bribes from Chinese inmates. Directors also reportedly facilitated bringing Chinese models for illegal activities.

Corrections Department director Prawut Wongsinin confirmed at least 20 officials were involved, alongside several Chinese inmates who admitted to bribing officers. As investigations continue, some inmates have been moved to different facilities.

An online rumor later suggested female inmates were forced into providing sexual services, which Prawut dismissed as fake news. He urged caution against spreading unfounded information while reassuring the public of an ongoing investigation.

The Facebook page Big Kren raised further concerns about possible preferential treatment beyond Chinese inmates, mentioning actor Kan Kantathavorn, imprisoned for fraud, reportedly seen in the VIP zone. Authorities vowed to look into these claims.

Intriguingly, surveillance footage from BRP was deleted prior to the raid, hinting at a tip-off. Efforts are underway to recover these CCTV recordings, potentially crucial for the investigation, reported The Thaiger.

Tell me it ain't true... officials excepting bribes.

Thaksin's previous stay outlined the flaws in the prison system. Special favours for a price not only applies to hi so prisoners. Poor families are also subjected to financial demands to ensure basic necessities for incarcerated relatives

Hopefully they arrest the warden and staff responsible and give them a jail sentence at another prison where there are no females and has a sign in the shower saying," Don't bend over to pick up the dropped soap"
