Runaway nuns can stay in Alpine convent if leave social media

Featured Replies

Three Austrian nuns in their 80s who ran away from the old people's home where they were placed have been told they can stay in their former convent "until further notice". However, Church authorities say they can only stay if they stop posting on social media.

Sister Bernadette, 88, Sister Regina, who is 86 and 82-year-old Sister Rita are the last three nuns at the Kloster Goldenstein convent in Elsbethen, just outside Salzburg.

The three nuns say they were taken out of the convent against their will in December 2023.

"Before I die in that old people's home, I would rather go to a meadow and enter eternity that way," said Sister Bernadette.

Bilmey, it's not only under 16 year olds that some countries are trying to ban from social media, now there's possible limits on the over 80s!

Sister Rita (L), Sister Regina (C) and Sister Bernadette have gained a substantial following for their social media posts

The three nuns have lived in Schloss Goldenstein for decades

So that huge building is just for 3 old ladies, they should move out and let people who need it more live there, then they can go back to posting on social media, and stop being so selfish......:coffee1:
